Father's Factory is a family-owned brand that offers magical moments to families around the world with our toy creations. Jimmy and Tammy started their design journey at Art Center College of Design. After their two daughters were born, they were frustrated in finding good quality toys that aesthetically fit into your home. Most toy companies design their products to be played for a short period o

f time. In Father's Factory, we design our toys to stick around with the families to create memories lasting a lifetime. Our toys inspire families to be creative, explore around, and play outside more. Because of this frustration, Jimmy often built toys with cardboard for the girls to play with. The most basic and unglorified toys spark their creativity and imagination. Over time, these cardboard toys had become an essential part of the girls’ lives. Seeing the many magical moments that his work bought to his family, Jimmy was inspired to spread joy with parents and kids around the world. He started to design toys that would bring families together and create memories that would last lifetimes. In Father's Factory, our goal is to design toys that have a longer product life span so they won’t be thrown out and ending up in the landfill once the toys fulfill their purposes. They are meant to be kept, passed on, or displayed as interior decor once the kid outgrew them.

Not all wooden toys are made the same. Here is what I check when I pick one up.

Solid wood has grains and run through all surfaces. MDF or composite plywood is compressed fiber and made look like real wood until it chips. Check the edges and you will see the difference.

Wooden toys that are made from composite plywood and MDF usually have spilled out glue and weak glue joints. Look for signs of bad craftsmanship.

Low end paint and chemical coating chips, and chip paints ends up in a mouth. Look for water based finish, natural wax, and wax coating on the wooden toys.

Run your thumb across the wooden toys to check rough edges and possible splinters. Good sanding craftsmanship goes through several grits of sanding process. We all know the little fingers are delicate 🥺
