Yes, we’re still here—working away behind the scenes! 👋

We’ve been cleaning and organizing the shop, which was very long overdue. We’re also waiting on a shipment of shirts that will hopefully arrive tomorrow so we can knock out several open orders and projects we already have in the works.

Next on the list is getting into the garage and knocking the dust off the embroidery machine! I have a few projects I’ve been wanting to tackle there too.

I received a message earlier about our vacation, so I wanted to clarify a few things:

🏖️ We will be on vacation from Saturday, July 18 through Saturday, July 25.

I will not be responding to messages while we’re gone. If I respond while I’m on vacation, I’ll either forget to follow back up, never fully turn my brain off, or miss out on family time—and none of those are good options!

You are still more than welcome to send me any ideas, inspiration pictures, questions, or projects you may be interested in while I’m away. I will begin returning messages in the order they were received when I’m officially back to work on Monday, July 27.

Please continue to spam me with alllllll the ideas and things you want to see! That is literally what I’m here for. ❤️

Once we return, we plan to be back in full operation until middle school basketball ramps up for my oldest, which shouldn’t be until October. And yes, I know—I need to make some gear for that too. He keeps reminding me. 😂

This design is already listed on the website, and you can choose from these colors or pick something totally different! We have color charts posted at the top of the website, so if you’d rather see it on another color, you absolutely can.

NEW TEACHER GEAR IS LIVE! ✏️📚

We’ve got some generic teacher gear this time! Most of these were requested directly, so if you’ve had ideas pinned on Pinterest or screenshots saved in your camera roll, send them my way and we’ll see what we can put together for you!

Depending on the type of design, they will be listed under Teachers & Staff, Bluejays, Cardinals, or Indians on our home page. You can also search for a design individually or browse by the other categories at the top of our website.

And as always, if you’re needing another school, mascot, or color combo, please send me your ideas — whether they’re your own inspiration pictures or Bluejay designs you’d like to see changed to match your school. DON’T FORGET! We are headed to the beach next Saturday and will be out of pocket the entire week. 🏖️ Once we get back, we’ll only have about a week and a few days before it’s officially BACK TO SCHOOL TIME, which means things are about to get busy fast.

When I made my announcement post that I’m back, I mentioned that I would be scaling things back and only taking on what feels manageable for me. That is absolutely not a dig at anyone, and it hurts my heart to ever turn anyone away, but I have to do what’s best for me mentally and what’s best for our busy family.

I will always try my best to get you taken care of, but last-minute requests are starting to become “no’s” from me so I can protect my sanity, my schedule, and my family time. I love y’all so much and appreciate every single order, message, share, and request more than you know.

NEW BLUEJAY GEAR IS LIVE! 💙

First and foremost — any design you see here can almost always be customized with your school name, mascot, and colors!

You’ll always see Bluejay gear first because, well… that’s what we are! 💙 I use these designs to showcase what’s new, and sometimes they sell great, sometimes they don’t — that’s just part of business. But when I put my time, money, and energy into Bluejay gear, it’s never wasted because it’s something I can wear, my kids can wear, or I can gift to our amazing staff.

So please know, just because you see it in Bluejay colors doesn’t mean it has to stay that way! If you love a design but need it changed to match your school, team, or colors, just send me a message and we’ll make it happen.

And as always, we show color options that we think look best with each design — but you get to choose! Want to see it on yellow, purple, orange, or whatever color your heart dreams up? I hope everyone had the BEST 4th of July weekend! We’ve been running nonstop lately, so we took it super slooooow getting started this morning. 😅 We were dragging over here… but now that I’ve successfully wasted half the day bed rotting 😂 it’s time to get back to business!

✨ I'M BACK! ✨

Whew... life has been BUSY, y'all. 😅

If you know me personally, you know I took a full-time job back in February after spending almost 7 years as a stay-at-home mom while running Old Gal Designs on the side. Let me tell you... getting back into a routine has been an adjustment! Throw in three kids' sports schedules, and most days I wasn't sure if I was coming or going.

Then summer school rolled around. I thought, "This will be easy! I'll work Monday through Thursday and spend Fridays catching up on shirts."

😂😂😂

I was SO wrong.

Summer school is a different kind of tired. And honestly? Every Friday ended up being family time by the water because my kids were absolute TROOPERS for spending their summer with me every day—even though they didn't have to. They never complained once, and those days together were worth every unfinished shirt order.

But... 🎉 WE'RE OFFICIALLY DONE WITH SUMMER SCHOOL! 🎉

So what does that mean for Old Gal Designs?

It means I'm back. ❤️

We're taking one family vacation on the 18th of this month, but other than that, I'll be working on orders, creating new designs, and getting ready for back-to-school season!

One thing I've learned this year is that I have to give myself grace. Between my job as a gen ed assistant, motherhood, and running this business, I'm being pulled in about 15 different directions. I love every bit of it, but sometimes things slip through the cracks.

So if we've talked about a shirt or a project and I haven't already told you I have you on my list...

First things first… SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER! 🎉☀️

And somehow, I survived going back to work full time for the first time in 7 years! 😅

I’ll still be working summer school, so life will definitely stay busy, but hopefully a little less chaotic without all the softball/baseball running every single night. ⚾️🥎

Today is my first official day of break, and I’m taking the day to completely decompress. I’m going to spend the weekend getting my house and life reset, and then I’ll start working through messages again on Monday!

If you don’t hear back from me by Tuesday, PLEASE message me again because there’s a very good chance your message got lost in the shuffle somewhere along the way. 💙

Also… since Facebook likes videos more than words 😂 — here’s a tumbler we made for our Teacher of the Year! We added student signatures all over it and I honestly think it turned out PERFECT. ✨
