Barb's Alteration Barb started working at Wilcox tailor in 1965. She started Barb's Alterations In 1981 in Pekin. Her grandson Lief Faichney took the shop over in 2016.

To our customers:

We have been following all of the information and facts on the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) threat. In light of the governor closing school, bars, restaurants and implementing other safety measures to slow the spread of the virus we have decided that it is in the best interest of our employees and our valued customers to temporarily close the shop until further notice. Barb's Alterations daughter, Jill typing.. My Mommy started sewing when she was in High School..50's style! Mommy carried that skill down to her daughter, whom still Loves it! Her Grandson, Lief, LOVES it just the same! Mommy has given many ladies and gentlemen an opportunity to learn! And earn. I am PROUD! I am honored, as Lief is carrying on the same quality work his Grandmother provided! With this being said, please know, our family now and since North 4th Street, where Mommy started it all in 1981, now on Derby st, is STILL ALIVE! ♡ CARRY ON BARB'S ALTERATIONS!

Some one has said we are closed permanently but we are only closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. And we do take an annual vacation every December. We are busy and getting ready for prom season at this time.
