Well, tonight turned into something we definitely weren't expecting.
Around midnight, our security cameras at Hodo's Custom Apparel alerted us to a vehicle in the parking lot. When we pulled up the live feed, we watched a car drive behind our building and straight into our patio table.
We immediately called the police, and I headed to the store. When I arrived, the driver was still there—and it was obvious he was extremely intoxicated.
The officers arrived at the same time I did and quickly took the driver into custody.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, and that's what matters most. The patio table can be replaced.
What we're most thankful for is that this didn't end much differently. An impaired driver on the road could have easily caused a serious crash or taken someone's life before ending up here. We're incredibly grateful that no innocent families received that kind of phone call tonight.
A huge thank you to our local law enforcement for their quick response and professionalism.
Needless to say, it was a very interesting way to end the night. Please, if you've been drinking, don't get behind the wheel. Call a friend, use a rideshare, or find another way home. One decision can change lives forever.
