Hey Stars!!
I miss you all so much. After years of shopping with you all…definitely feel a void not seeing you all. Taking this moment in time to process a lot and find the path that aligns with my soul is truly a gift. I needed it. I am still recovery from all the mold exposure. Tried so many things. Right now I’m not doing anything but giving my body a break from severe stress.
But enough with that…what I came on here to share is a project I’ve been working on. Pouring all my merchandising heart into and helping local small businesses…all under one roof!
I know I planned to rest and enjoy not working as my body and family needed that more than ever. I’ll share more on my life update soon! But okay…

So sorry for my delay on our very last sale. Very last day. It’s been a lot for me to really set.

Hope to see you and shop with you one last time.🥰 I’ve worked retail for 20 years. Hard to believe. But it was such a part of me that it’s a lot harder on me to officially close this chapter. A lot of bitter sweet feelings. I can’t imagine running business right now. So maybe it’s all just part of the plan as I step out of the retail industry.

I can’t thank you all enough for always being the best cheerleaders along the way. It was a dream of mine that I will always look back on and be so happy I experienced.🥰

Hey Stars,

I want to thank you all for your understanding and kind words but most of all your support and love for Wishing Star all these years. It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years. I’ve learned so much doing this business life. It’s changed me in so many ways and I can’t help to think God was just preparing me for whatever it is next for myself and my family.

I’ve made the tough decision to close Wishing Star. It wasn’t something that I could decide to do myself. But my health is still so bad from working in the toxic mold from the roof leaks. I do feel a lot better being out of our old space but I still struggle with energy and overall health.

I will be there Friday & Saturday 12-5. Everything is on major sale.

Omg…I had to share this here. The same molds making her sick did come up on the air sample test we personally sampled and sent off to a lab for our old location of 5 years. I still struggle so much today. This is so heartbreaking to see because I was so ill and my staff had minor symptoms. I was more full time. A roof leak is very serious and a bucket to catch it until its stops is not safe. I’ve been out of the space for months. Still struggle with so many symptoms daily.
Please if know the symptoms of mold exposure. I did not and I’m still not capable to do things I normally did so easily.

Hey y’all! We want to catch you up on some changes around here that many of you may have already noticed. Last February we combined our men’s and women’s retail locations in Myrtle Beach to create a new, better than ever Rambler that now offers men’s and women’s goods! In November, we did the same here in Illinois. That left us with the random location at Junction City. After a brief transitional period, Random Boutique is now... Random Vintage Shop.

Drew and I are curating products within Rambler that align with our passions, and we wanted the same for Kathy. Her passion is vintage. She’ll be bringing you all things vintage - from apparel to home goods to accessories and more. She has been working hard curating an amazing selection of vintage goods!

Hey Stars,

I deeply apologize for having very limited hours. The way business has been this winter is very stressful and difficult. Then add us getting the flu to our household. I’ve been needing to take a pause for my mental health. Give myself the break I need to truly decide what I see for Wishing Star’s future.
I see so many local businesses sharing posts about how it’s so challenging in this market. I have to say being in this industry for 20 years…I do see the drastic difference. It’s actually a very unsettling feeling.

So this Saturday 1-25-2025, we will be open 12-5. We will be running 25% OFF. Please come out and help us move our beautiful winter items. Most can be styled into spring as well.

Hoping with this week off to gain a clear direction that feels right.❤️

I truly appreciate you all. I’ve felt I haven’t had enough energy for all areas that life demands this past year. Adding health issues it makes me feel even more stress. My children are always my number one. They are why I opened Wishing Star almost 10 years ago. So that’s why I’m going to just need to really take a pause. I hope to have a better plan that is realistic and still be able to keep Wishing Star.
