“Thank goodness I was meeting Vijeta at her in-home Silk Route Fashion Boutique before heading to our NAWBO dinner event. I’m not sure if the look I was going for could be called ‘shabby chic,’ but let’s just say it ended up a lot more shabby than chic. I had on a t-shirt, one of Vijeta’s coveralls, and a necklace. Paired with jeans, it looked like I couldn’t decide whether I was going casual—or just confused.

Vijeta knows me well and had already pulled out several pieces for me to try. It wasn’t long before she added a pair of linen pants, and suddenly, the whole look came together. Definitely India’s version of chic—not a trace of shabby left!

I absolutely adore the multicolored necklace I picked up. I never seem to have just the right one to go with all the different colors I wear, but now I have a perfect go-to—with matching earrings, I am finally motivated to get my ears re-pierced!

She also helped me find a darker necklace and earrings for my deeper-toned outfits.”
