I had a customer interaction today that left an impression on my heart. Someone came in that I hadn’t seen in some time, and my joy bubbled all over when I saw them! After the initial hug and hellos I just took a moment to look at them, really see them, and then hug again. They said “thank you for looking at me”. That statement, that gratitude hit me in the heart. I wanted to ask why they said that, but I knew.
So often we lose ourselves in our own lives, our jobs, our daily monotony. We, esp in customer service positions, see many different people and miss opportunities to connect on a human level rather than the almost expected surface level interactions. Today was a reminder of the importance and power of connection. It was a reminder of WHY I opened Moonbeams to begin with.
In a world of social media, fast quick easy, online, and stress filled lives- a moment (even brief) of connection and friendship and kindness can impact so deeply. I feel blessed beyond measure for today. I had so many impactful and wonderful conversations and interactions today and I am forever grateful for these moments. I challenge you to find these moments in your daily lives. The cashier at the store, the waitress or waiter at the restaurant, the customer on the phone or at your desk, the stranger on the street- take a moment and humanize the interaction and leave a positive impression. You never know how that kindness can impact you both. ❤️
