Last October we spent two days at the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival, and we're going back. Find us at booth M50 on Market Street, close to where we were last year, just across from Behold Coffee. We'll be there Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, from 10 to 5, with the Afita plush, quilts and a table full of handmade things from our sewing room in Pevely. Entry is free, and there's a free shuttle from the Windsor School campuses.

What happens after you order from us. Every piece gets wrapped in tissue, sealed with a little Afita sticker, and packed into its box at our table in Pevely, Missouri. Muffin the Panda plush pillow is the one who would rather stay in. He's cozy, content and happiest on the couch with the fall pillows out, which feels about right for October. A5 journal cover and makeup bag sets, quilted by hand in Pevely, Missouri, and there are exactly ten of them. Each one is sewn from end-of-bolt fabric, the last of a run, so when a print is gone it is gone. The cover slips over an 8.27 by 5.5 inch notebook and takes the next one when it runs out, the makeup bag is cut from the same cloth, and a notebook comes inside, blank or lined. Two of the bags carry an Afita character: Zane the Smarty Cat and Sir Fluffington the Sloth. $55 a set, or the cover alone for $35, made to order. The shop link is on our page.

New in the shop: the CuddleCloth, a minky face cloth for washing your face and taking off makeup. Soft white minky on the front with four Afita characters printed right into it, cotton on the back, and a stitched border that keeps it flat through the wash. Every one is sewn, trimmed and turned right side out by hand in Pevely, Missouri. It is $12 on its own, or it comes with three CuddleRounds and a CuddleMini plush in the CuddleCare Set, our new mom care package.

Dash the Dachshund plush pillow, then and now. The one on the left is the last
Dash from our first batch in 2023, cut close around his ears and tail so the seam
follows every curve of him, and somehow nobody ever took him home. The one on the
right is how Dayana makes him now: a simpler shape, the same ultra soft minky, the

Dayana sews these the way she sews a quilt. Patchwork squares, character panels set into them, and every seam clipped by hand so the edges soften and fray the more you carry it.

Most of them go out with several characters on the front. If you would rather have the same one on every square, that works too, and it costs the same. Put the characters and the fabric colors you want in the order notes. If you would rather not choose, leave it to Dayana and she will pick a set.

This is what a quilted makeup bag looks like before it is a makeup bag. The fabric gets layered and then stitched right through in straight lines, which is what gives it that soft, slightly padded surface, and the seams finish flat rather than frayed. The quilted makeup bag is in the shop now, made to order for $20. Tell us a favorite color and we will pick the fabric.

Zane is the Smarty Cat, and he takes that seriously. He comes as an 8 inch CuddleMini plush pillow at $10 or the 11 inch CuddlePlush at $15, handmade in ultra soft minky with the same face on both sides, glasses and bow tie included.
