Bookbinding has been in my creative to do list for years!!! Specifically u wanted to create book and use my handwoven for the cover.

I found a place a few years ago with classes that look amazing, but they had an age requirement of 18 to take class with no flexibility. Boo.

So I was THRILLED that there was a bookbinding class at Convergence 🙌 Now that I have a taste of experience I definitely want to do more with this art form.

There are a couple of master bookbinders in Portugal (fun fact... the oldest bookstore in the world is just a few blocks from where I live), so I'll definitely be exploring how to go deeper into bookbinding here.

Talk about a fun blast from the past! I'm putting the finishing touches on a presentation and Convergence next week and needed a specific example of social media content for a class I'm co-teaching with - which led to a fun walk down memory lane and the cockatoo project!

Is there a warp on the loom? Yes. Is there a dye project in a bucket? Yes. Am I finalizing a presentation for Handweavers Guild Of America? Yes. But finding the time to post the pics filling my camera roll.... Impossible 🤦‍♀️🤣

internship is a wrap! I'm used to working with handwoven fabric that has taken me weeks to design and create. So working with "waste" was liberating in a way that I didn't know to expect. It was an awesome experience and I am so grateful I got to be a part of it.
