I recently received this painting “Poppy” back from a gallery where it was recently displayed. It’s been one of my favorites and it reminded me how I had started it by adhering rice paper over the entire canvas before laying down paint ( and some sequins) . I just had to share this painting by my so talented friend Carole Ellis .ellis . It’s a painting of my living room when I open up my house/studio for (Philadelphia Open Studio Tours) , which I will be participating in again in October. I think Carole was inspired by all of the colors of my walls, art and handdyed silks.The first image is her painting and the next one is my living room that inspired her where this painting happily lives now!

A few of the most recent pieces I have been slowly working on . Haven’t posted much recently because I’ve been dealing with a spinal fracture that has slowed me down on top of my angst over the state of our country. Trying to stay positive and taking to heart this Valentines Day the Martin Luther King quote-“ I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

I seem to paint looser on paper than on canvas. I’m packing my studio up to head South and I think I’ll bring lots of paper with me to work on. 🌸
