I spent more time at the press than I did building what the press was supposed to be in service of.

That’s the trap nobody warns you about when you start. You learn the craft. You get good at the physical thing. You feel productive because something tangible is coming out of it. Shirts. Product. Output. And for a while that feels like enough because at least you can point to it.

But a brand is not a product. A brand is a feeling someone has before they even touch what you made. It’s the reason they seek you out instead of scrolling past. It’s the community that forms around an idea before the idea even has a full collection behind it.
I’ve been learning that distinction the hard way.

ICONEVIE exists because I genuinely believe in building something artful. Contemporary clothing that people want to be seen in. Pieces that mean something beyond the fabric and the print. A world built around the idea that your life can be singular and intentional and completely your own. That’s why this brand exists.
But vision without ex*****on is just a mood board. And ex*****on without vision is just a print shop.

I’ve been both at different points this year. The goal now is to be neither. To build something that holds the craft and the concept together without sacrificing one for the other.

We are building a community that’s forming around something still being built. If you’re a founder in the middle of figuring out what you’re actually building and why, you’re in the right place.

We’re doing this the right way. Which means we’re doing it slowly, loudly, and without apology. You got this.
