It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Frank V. Ristagno, the founder of RHG Products, later known as Philly Express, and the man whose vision and craftsmanship shaped who we are today.
Frank started the business in 1976 in a small one-room rental, working alone as a personal tailor with unmatched attention to detail. His dedication and skill grew the company from a one-man shop into a thriving operation producing custom apparel and eventually sports-specific garments, including hockey and baseball jerseys.
Frank poured his passion into both his work and his family. His son Michael grew up in the shop, learning each step of the process by watching Frank’s hands at work. Frank was incredibly proud of the way Michael carried on the business, and even when they didn’t always see things the same way, they shared deep respect and made each other better. Today, Frank’s grandson Michael continues that tradition as the next generation of the Ristagno family.
To the many employees who worked beside him over the years, Frank was more than a founder. He was a mentor, a friend, and someone whose warmth, humor, and kindness made a lasting impact. He was truly loved by the people who helped him build this place.
Outside the shop, Frank loved gardening, restoring antiques, classic cars, and sharing jokes. Above all, he cherished his family. He leaves behind his loving wife Maryann, his children Michael and Jennifer, and grandchildren who meant the world to him.
Frank’s legacy lives on in every stitch, every nameplate, and every jersey that leaves our building. From the entire Philly Express family, thank you Frank for building this place, for your craftsmanship, and for the heart you poured into this company. We are honored to carry your legacy forward.
