You probably remember that "new" smell when you finished your nursery.

Most of us instinctively recognize it. Research helps explain why.
Many newly manufactured items, including furniture, paint, rugs, and mattresses, can temporarily release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the indoor air through a process called off-gassing.

Over time, these emissions naturally decrease, but simple steps like increasing ventilation (when outdoor air quality is good) and using effective air filtration can help create a healthier indoor environment during that transition.

At Sereniby, we believe parents don't need more reasons to worry. They deserve information that helps connect what they already notice with what the research tells us.

Did anyone ever mention off-gassing while you were planning your nursery? 👇 We'd love to know.

We can't promise Sereniby will solve every sleep challenge.

Babies wake. They grow. They go through sleep regressions. That's all part of the journey.

What we can promise is that Sereniby helps create a cleaner, healthier nursery environment by continuously filtering the air and monitoring indoor air quality. A comfortable sleep space starts with the environment around them, and air quality is one piece that's often overlooked.

A healthier nursery won't guarantee a full night's sleep, but it can help create the kind of space that supports better rest for your little one and greater peace of mind for you.

Because when it comes to your baby's sleep environment, every detail matters.

Tell us we're not the only ones... 😅

There is something magical about hearing "they're already asleep?" while you're on vacation.

Travel changes the scenery, but keeping a few familiar parts of bedtime can make all the difference. For many families, that means packing the favorite lovey, bedtime book... and Sereniby.

The familiar white noise, gentle airflow, and cleaner air help create a sleep environment that feels a little more like home, wherever your adventures take you.

Does Sereniby have a permanent spot on your packing list? We'd love to know where it's traveled with your family.

Sereniby didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a simple question: How can we create a healthier sleep environment for our own children?

As parents, we know what it's like to spend hours researching every product that comes into your home. We know the late-night worries, the endless decisions, and the desire to give your child the very best.

That's why Sereniby was built by parents, for parents.

We didn't create something we hoped families would use. We created something we wanted in our own homes first. Every feature, from HEPA filtration and real-time air quality monitoring to sleep-friendly white noise and thoughtful nursery design, was chosen with real families in mind.

Because when you're building something for your own child, "good enough" isn't good enough.

Creating a healthier home doesn't have to mean making big changes overnight.

Often, it's the small, everyday habits that make a difference. Taking your shoes off at the door, dusting regularly, letting new furniture air out, and choosing fragrance-free products when possible can all help support better indoor air quality.

You don't have to be perfect. Every thoughtful choice is a step toward creating a healthier environment for your family.

Which habit do you already practice, or which one are you going to start? Let us know in the comments.

The first years of life are filled with moments we'll never get back.

The first smile.

The first laugh.

The first steps.

As parents, we can't control everything our children will experience. But we can shape the environment they grow, play, and sleep in every single day.

A healthy foundation isn't built with one big decision. It's built through hundreds of small, thoughtful choices made out of love.

Creating a space with cleaner air. A comfortable temperature. Fewer distractions. A room where little bodies can rest, grow, and thrive.

Because the environment we create today becomes the foundation they build on tomorrow.

Here's to raising healthy, happy little humans. 💜

Faces of the accused have been blurred to protect their identity.

Any resemblance to people currently asking, "Mom, have you seen my...?" is purely coincidental.

Designing a nursery often focuses on what we can see: the crib, the paint color, the lighting, and the décor.

But one of the most important elements of a healthy nursery is invisible.

The air.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, infants and young children are more vulnerable to air pollution because they breathe more air relative to their body weight and their lungs are still developing. The World Health Organization recommends keeping annual PM2.5 concentrations below five micrograms per cubic meter to reduce long-term health risks.

It's also worth remembering that a newly finished nursery can temporarily have elevated airborne particles. Fresh paint, new furniture, rugs, cardboard packaging, and dust from installation or renovations can all contribute to indoor air pollution during those first weeks.

As you prepare your baby's space, consider these evidence-based practices:

• Allow new furniture and décor to air out before use whenever possible.

• Vacuum and dust regularly using a HEPA-filter vacuum to reduce fine particulate matter.

• Increase ventilation when outdoor air quality is favorable.

• Monitor indoor air quality so you can identify changes rather than relying on assumptions.

• Use a HEPA air purifier to help reduce airborne particles and support a healthier indoor environment.

A thoughtfully designed nursery is about more than aesthetics.

It's about creating an environment that supports healthy growth, restorative sleep, and development from the very beginning.
