What does your love of purple reveal about you?

From creativity and intuition to confidence and self-expression, purple has a rich history and fascinating symbolism. I also share the best purple shades for Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter color palettes.

Purple is the color of royalty, wisdom, and creativity. It has long been associated with luxury and mystery, offering a unique combination of red’s energy and blue’s calm. From deep, rich plums to soft lavenders, purple offers a wide range of shades that can fit every mood and season. In this po...

One of the biggest misconceptions about color analysis is that we can determine your season based on your hair color, eye color, or what colors you usually wear.

Yesterday’s client was convinced she had cool undertones and assumed she was a Winter. She wears a lot of black and had even darkened her hair with henna to a deep brown-black. At first glance, Winter seemed like a possibility.

But once we covered her hair and began draping, a different story emerged.

Instead of looking brighter and more vibrant in Winter colors, her features became overwhelmed. The high contrast and intensity were simply too much.

As we worked through the drapes, it became clear that she wasn’t bright at all—she was soft.

Her complexion was quite neutral, which made her season harder to identify at first. But the muted warmth of Soft Autumn brought a beautiful harmony to her face. Her skin looked healthier, her features felt more balanced, and there was a gentle warmth that wasn’t there in the cooler palettes.

She was completely surprised.

And honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts of what I do. Sometimes the colors we’re drawn to—or the colors we’ve been told suit us—aren’t actually our best colors.

The drapes never lie.

Have you ever been surprised by a color that looked amazing on you? Or have you always wondered what season you might be? I’d love to hear your guess in the comments.

A lot of people ask me how I got into color analysis.

The funny thing is that my journey actually started many years ago when I had my own color analysis done as a teenager. I found it fascinating, but like many things in life, it eventually got pushed to the background as I focused on raising a family, running businesses, and all the other responsibilities that come with life.

A few years ago, I rediscovered my interest in color analysis and started diving deeper into it. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a passion. The more I learned, the more fascinated I became by the way color can affect how we look, feel, and even how confidently we show up in the world.

That passion eventually led me to professional training and the creation of Truly Hue.

What I didn’t expect was how much I would love meeting all the wonderful people who walk through my door each week. Every client has a unique story, personality, and style. I love watching that moment when someone begins to see themselves in a new way and gains confidence in the colors that truly suit them.

It’s hard to believe that something that started as a personal interest has turned into a business that I genuinely look forward to every day.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to be part of your color journey. ❤️

One of the things I want my clients to know is that while I take seasonal color analysis seriously, I don’t take a rigid approach to how you should use it.

I am always studying, learning, and refining my skills so I can provide the most accurate analysis possible. But once we discover your best colors, I see your palette as a guidebook, not a rulebook.

My goal is never to make you feel boxed in or like you need to throw out your wardrobe. Instead, I want to help you understand why certain colors work so beautifully on you and give you practical ways to wear the colors you already love, even shades like black or white that may not be your absolute best.

Color analysis should feel empowering, not restrictive. It’s about building confidence, making shopping easier, and helping you feel more like yourself when you get dressed each day.

The world of color is meant to be explored and enjoyed. I’m just here to help guide the way.

One of my favorite things about color analysis is how often it surprises people.

Recently, a mother and daughter came to see me fully expecting to be different seasons. They have very different coloring, and honestly, when I first met them, I thought they might be too.

But that’s exactly why I never guess.

Hair color, eye color, and even your overall complexion can provide clues, but they don’t tell the whole story. The drapes are what reveal how your skin actually responds to color. Sometimes the results are exactly what you expect, and sometimes they’re not!

As we worked through the draping process together, the answer became very clear. More importantly, they could see it for themselves. The difference between the right and wrong colors wasn’t subtle once we found the season that truly harmonized with each of them.

This is also why online quizzes, AI apps, and trying to type yourself from photos can be so frustrating. Color analysis is about how your skin reacts to color in real life, and that’s something that is best seen in person.

I loved helping these two discover their best colors and watching those “aha!” moments happen right in front of their eyes. 💕

Summer is such a fun time for color analysis… ☀️
The sunshine, lighter fabrics, and all the seasonal shopping make it the perfect time to finally discover the shades that truly make you glow.

I’m already booking up for June, but I still have quite a few weekday appointments available right now, and for the summer I’ll also be opening up a couple evening appointments each week for those who can’t easily come during the day.

If you’ve been thinking about having your colors done, this is honestly one of the best seasons to do it. It makes summer shopping so much easier, helps you avoid wasting money on the wrong shades, and gives you so much more confidence getting dressed every day.

There’s nothing better than seeing someone’s face light up the moment they see the right colors come alive on them. ✨

There’s something so special about experiencing color analysis with someone you care about. These two friends came in together last week and we had an absolute blast. Their excitement, openness, and reactions as we discovered their best colors made the whole experience so much fun.

One of my favorite parts of these sessions is watching the transformations happen in real time. When the right colors go on, you can literally see faces brighten, eyes sparkle, skin look healthier, and confidence come alive. And sharing that experience with a friend or family member makes it even more meaningful and supportive.

“Color for Two” has become one of my most popular offerings because it turns the session into such a fun and memorable experience together. Whether it’s best friends, sisters, moms and daughters, or coworkers, it’s always amazing to see how different and unique everyone’s best colors are.

I only have a few appointments left in May, and June is already starting to fill. If you’ve been thinking about doing color analysis, this is a great time to grab a friend and come experience it together.
