Fam! It's been a while but we are back just in time for fall! It's a glorious time of year, between the outdoor activities, the beautiful fall colors, pumpkin spice lattes and heavier fabrics. And for fans of wineries and beer gardens, it's the perfect climate for day drinking. With layering season upon us, it's time to assess your fall wardrobe and make sure you are covered for the warm afternoons and chilly evenings. [ 217 more words ]

We’re having a cookout and we would be thrilled if you would join us!
Philly Gents has teamed up with our friends at to host our first cookout on Saturday, July 18 at Fairmount Park. RSVP via the eventbrite link in the bio!
2020 has been a year to put it lightly and we thought it was about time we come together to reconnect.
We will have a few tables, chairs and tents and nearby trees will provide ample shade from the sun. We still recommend bringing blankets and chairs as seating will be limited.
There will be plenty of hand sanitizer available. Please observe social distancing and keep your mask on hand.

Tomorrow marks the anniversary of Juneteenth, or Emancipation Day and we hope everyone is doing something to celebrate or educate themselves about this important day in history.
June 19, 1865 was the day that union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and freed the last remaining slaves in the confederate south. Just this week, Philly recognized Juneteenth as a city holiday. Hopefully the country will soon do the same.
Despite June 19 marking the anniversary of emancipation, freedom has not been fully realized for Black Americans. Protesting and petitions have recently resulted in small victories but there is all lot more work that needs to be done and everyone needs to get involved.
Philly Gents will be attending Jawnteenth on Friday, June 19 in Malcolm X park. This event is organized by Black Lives Matter’s Philly chapter - we recommend giving them a follow.
BLM Philly is also hosting a Say Her Name march for the black women whose killers have yet to face justice. Both events can be found on BLM Philly’s social media pages.

Black lives matter‼️
We have been at a loss of words for the past two weeks. The recent shootings of innocent unarmed black men and women are heartbreaking and devastating. Officers sworn to protect the citizens of this country use excessive force and violence, yet continue to not be held accountable. Tragically, these recent injustices are not isolated incidents. This is nothing new and by remaining silent, systematic racism will continue to cut innocent lives short.
Philly Gents has always been about building a community and creating spaces for all people to come together through our events. However, we absolutely need to do more to fight racism and injustice.
We will be bringing activism to Philly Gents. Between organizing our network to attend protests to incorporating fundraisers in our future events that support causes like Black Lives Matter, the ACLU and the PhillyBailFund.
We have always supported black-owned businesses as vendors and partners for our events. We are excited to continue this in the future once large gatherings are permitted again.
We ask our network to use their voices in any form to speak out against hate and injustice. And if you are out protesting this week, be safe out there and thank you for taking a stand!

You probably noticed that for the past month I've been featuring purple on my feed. With flowers blooming, warmer days and holidays like Easter and Memorial day, lavender and lilac just seem to fit the mood! I have enjoyed sticking to color themes on the gram. It not only looks nice on my feed but it challenges me to be creative and also rotate evenly through my wardrobe. [ 139 more words ]
