MacAlpine's History Moment: Throw Back Thursday. Elwood and Normad Isaac standing in front of the I&S Market with their son Dean. This is the south portion of our original building and is now filled with intriguing antiques. Recognize the mail drop box behind them? It's moved over by the door you now enter our diner. I&S Market opened in 1950 was in operation until 1974.

MacAlpine's history moment. Throw Back Thursday The first drugstore in our original building was Birch's Seventh St. Pharmacy. There was also a Birch's Pharmacy on East Roosevelt St. Both stores had a soda fountain. But this 1929 ad was looking for some to learn the "drug business." Today the wording of this ad would probably be unacceptable.

Our LAST event in house for August 🪩💃

MacAlpine’s has been around since 1929, so obviously we had to keep moving through the decades… and this time we’re taking it straight to the 80s for PROM NIGHT. 💘

Great food, live music, photo booth, big hair, questionable decisions & all the nostalgia you can handle.

👑 AND we’re crowning Prom Kings + Queens
but you’re gonna have to earn it. divas don’t die, they buy will be helping crown the winners, doing a full SERVE OFF to decide who takes the crown.

Come dressed to impress. Come hungry. Come ready to dance.

It is an open mic event, so we will be having a sign up sheet ready for all the Shakespeares that appear.
