Gentlemen, if you have a black tie event coming up or you’re getting married, pay attention to the front of your tuxedo jacket.

A lot of guys are not wearing cummerbunds anymore, so the jacket needs to lay clean and cover the waistband. You do not want the front curving open and showing little white bits of shirt under the button. It is a subtle detail, but it makes the whole tuxedo look more elegant, more intentional, and much cleaner in photos.

Gentlemen, if you already have the must-have navy sport coat, the next jacket I usually suggest is something gray.

Gentlemen, linen shirts don’t always have to be white or beige, and these custom shirts are a great example. I made these for a client who wanted something lightweight for the heat, but still polished enough to wear well.

Linen is the best choice for when it is a million degrees outside, and in colors like green, navy, and charcoal, it feels a little more elevated and personal. The buttons match the fabric, which is one of those subtle details that makes the whole shirt feel finished. Subtle details go a long way, especially in custom.

Gentlemen, green is one of my favorite colors this season, and I love how easy this look is to wear. The knit polo gives you a little texture and personality, while the drawstring short keeps it casual and comfortable.
