Before you assume hunger after a feeding, run through this checklist. There is more than this list, but if you’ve checked everything and they’re still inconsolable, trust your gut and call your provider. You know your baby.

This is the kind of rest that changes everything in those early weeks. An overnight postpartum doula involves hands-on, expert support so you can heal, sleep, and show up for your baby feeling human again. If you’re in the Phoenix area and want to learn more about overnight support, DM me SLEEP.

This is what postpartum meals could look like for you. 🍲

Not complicated. Not time-consuming. Just warm, nourishing food that actually supports your healing body in the weeks after birth.

Every single meal in this carousel was chosen with postpartum recovery in mind: easy to digest, supportive of milk supply, rich in the nutrients your body is depleted of after birth, and easy to eat with one hand while you’re holding your baby.

This is the kind of food that makes a real difference in how you feel during the fourth trimester, and it’s exactly what I make for the families I support through my postpartum meal delivery service.

If you’re pregnant and starting to think about postpartum support, save this post and DM “meals” for more info. I’d love to help take this off your plate before baby arrives.

There’s no single version of overnight support that’s right for everyone, it’s unique to your family. We figure out what works based on your feeding goals, your baby, and what kind of sleep will actually help you recover.

And as time allows, I’m washing bottles, prepping no-heat meals, tidying the nursery, and running baby laundry: the small things that pile up fast and feel impossible when you’re navigating newborn & postpartum life.

You wake up having slept. Baby was fed, settled, and cared for all night. And your kitchen looks fresh and ready for a new day.
That’s what overnight support is supposed to feel like.

Overnight visits are also when a lot of sleep education happens naturally. I’m observing your baby’s cues, sleep cycles, and settling patterns in real time, and I share what I’m noticing with you. By the time our time together is through, you’re not just rested. You understand your baby’s sleep better and have a foundation that supports quality rest as your baby grows.

If you’re wondering whether it’s the right fit for your family, my DM is open. We’ll talk through exactly what it could look like for you.

You’ve finally got baby down, but now you can’t sleep. Maybe you’ve tried everything or don’t even know where to start. Here are some sleep tips inspired by Ayurveda for those nights when you can’t seem to rest despite being tired:

1. Dashamula tea first thing in the morning and last at night
2. Apply warm sesame oil to feet and scalp before bed. Wear socks and a hat
3. Drink warm water through the night instead of cold water
4. Get blood work done and work with a practitioner to balance anything that is imbalanced
5. Reduce blue light at night: blue light blocker glasses, red light or no light in the evening
6. Sunshine first thing in the morning
7. Lavender, Chamomile, or Brahmi tea before bed
8. Light movement during the day
9. Reduce stimulants during the day such as caffeine
10. Warm herbal bath at the same time each day

If you are experiencing anxiety or depression, getting help and regulating your nervous system is an important first step. Wishing you many restful nights!

I get it. Sometimes you just want to know what to expect. To know exactly when baby will get hungry so you can plan a drive, or when nap time will fall so an outing actually works.

But babies aren’t built for rigid schedules. Rhythms and patterns absolutely support development, but following cues tends to serve baby far better than following the clock.

Those sleep and feeding charts are based on averages. They’re a helpful starting point, not a rulebook. Responsive, cue-based care supports secure attachment and, over time, actually builds the foundation for independent sleep and self-regulation.

Infant sleep is a biological and developmental process, and it is normal for your to baby wake at night and need you. They have a nervous system that hasn’t yet learned to regulate on its own, reaching out for the one person who can help it do exactly that.

Research has shown that babies who receive consistent, responsive care at night develop stronger self-regulation over time, carry lower baseline cortisol levels, and grow into toddlers with more confidence and independence. Responding to your baby provides the essential foundation for independence.

And you do not have to sacrifice your own wellbeing to do this. You can get more rest and stay connected to your instincts.

That’s exactly what we’re exploring together on Saturday, May 16 from 11am to 1pm at Moment of Truth Physical Therapy.

Attachment + Sleep: A Workshop for New and Expecting Parents is designed for families with children ages 0-3 and those who are still expecting.
