Who was Belle Jangles? Her name is all over the internet, with only one tidbit of information: She was the first recorded pole dancer in 1968 at a strip joint called ‘Mugwumps’.

We have been searching for more information but have come up empty. If anyone has any info at all, please share in the comments so we can get to the bottom of this mystery.

This research is part of the larger pole dance history project that we are working on. Belle Jangles has been listed as a pole pioneer on countless websites, but we don’t know anything about her. It’s time to get to the truth.
