LC Design is located in the heart of Historic Pipestone, Minnesota and carries local and regionally handcrafted home decor and gifts. Upon graduation I moved to Pipestone, MN with my (at that time) soon to be husband, Paul. Paul is a farm kid; hogs, crops, tractors, dirt...that is his thing. Upon moving here, I had no idea how I was going to utilize my degree in a town of 4,000 people, but I reall
y did not want to just leave my community, but become a piece of my community and do great things. So in 2014 I started my business LC Design out of our home, since it has been flourishing! June 2016, I quit my day job and started doing LC Design full time, it was time to take that leap of faith and it did me well in so many ways! In July 2016 I was selected as a micro-grant recipient for myself and my business through the OTA program, which was amazingly exciting. If you are unfamiliar with OTA it connects creatives, story tellers, community lovers, and all around cool people from the OTA region (minnesOTA, south dakOTA, and north dakOTA). Out of all their entires they were only picking 6 recipients for their Trailblazer program—2 from each state! Not only was I chosen as the only Minnesotan, but as the only non-South Dakotan! I got to connect with so many creatives, movers, shakers, and makers of the region. It sparked my idea for LC Design even more! There had been many moments where I had felt defeated and that this was never going to move further than weekly orders going out the door. I wanted a space so, so bad. When I was really losing hope in the summer of 2017 a business on Main Street and in a very prime location of where things are happening, opened up and asked me to come in and start my business inside of their business! I could stay there for a month, see how it goes OR I can do three months, OR 3 years or whatever works for me. With all my dreams, passions, and education I wrapped it all into one. In June 2017, we opened the store front of LC Design. LC Design features makers from all over the region from Studio2Ceramics of the Twin Cities to Brick House Creations of Sioux Falls, SD, Wild Goat Design of Parker, SD to Dwell605 in Platte, SD; big cities to small towns. We love bringing in and showing our customer what all our region has to offer (and thats a lot!). As makers, we are all in this together in making quality products to provide to people who truly appreciate that and that is just what we do here at LC Design. Come see us to shop or just talk.
