Here's a weird fact about me👇😂

I'm a little obsessed with sidewalks.

I know that's probably the strangest thing to admit, but if you live in the suburbs like I do, where there are hardly any sidewalks and you have to drive everywhere (even across the street to your go-to Thai restaurant😅) maybe you can relate?

Whenever I visit a city and get to walk on actual sidewalks, I get ridiculously excited (no judgement please). Bonus points if they're brick-by-brick in a beautiful herringbone pattern like this one 😆

This blender pattern, called "Sidewalk" (yep, you guessed it🤣) is available in both brick pink and mint green colorways at and 🐶

Well, now you know why this collection is called Sidewalk Pals and literally has a sidewalk pattern in it😉💕

Oh my… that’s a LOT of new friends 👀 Kitty has officially met everyone and the city feels a little less scary now 🖤 This playful hand-drawn pattern is filled with cute neighborhood pups🐶, and it’s quickly become one of my favorites from the Sidewalk Pals collection 🥹

Last week I was invited to speak at the alumni panel for the very first Immersion Homecoming event with … and it was epic😍 So many great takeaways from alumni and art directors✨

The last question at the alumni panel was:
“What’s one thing you want to tell the students?”

I shared a few little reminders that I constantly come back to myself. I started with sharing that when I hit creative blocks, it’s usually because I’m trying too hard to make something “great” instead of simply allowing myself to play.

That’s why I remind myself:
✨Everything is practice✨

Not every sketch needs to become a portfolio piece.
Not every pattern needs to change your career.
Sometimes you just need to make things for the joy of making them.

And honestly? My best work usually comes when I’m having fun💛

That’s where:
✨If you’re not having FUN, you’re doing it wrong✨
came from, and I think this one resonated with many of you😊

And here's a bonus one I didn't get to share but I feel strongly about:
✨Find JOY in your own work✨

On the days I feel lost or unsure if any of this is worth it, I look around at the things I’ve created. A doodle. A fabric design. A color palette. A sewn project. Even just an idea that lights me up.

And I remember: there is already so much joy here🥹
You don’t always need to go searching for it somewhere else.
And finding that joy in my own work is what keeps me going.

I can’t believe Immersion 2026 is already coming to a close. The last few days of support are winding down, and it all went by in a flash. I’m so grateful I got to serve as an Expert this year. It's meant so much to me to play even a very small part in helping your creative journeys move forward🥰

What a life-giving week it's been✨ Just one day after speaking at an alumni panel for the Immersion Class of 2026 with (more on this later🫶) where I shared that I wished I'd started my shop much sooner, I saw myself featured on Spoonflower’s post celebrating AAPI pattern designers 🥹

Talk about timing✨ Was Spoonflower secretly listening to my panel?😂

What makes this even more meaningful is that four years ago, I was featured by Spoonflower as a MAKER for my handmade business by being one of the 10 winners of the Spoonflower Small Business Grant in Fall 2022✨ At the time, I had just learned how to design patterns inside the Immersion course and had only finished my very first collection.

Now, four years later, being featured as a DESIGNER feels incredibly full circle, like wow how cool is this💛 It honestly makes me emotional thinking about the past 4 years🥹

And I just realized… every single design featured in the post started as a Spoonflower Design Challenge entry 👀 Maybe this is my sign to start participating in challenges again? I've taken a longer-than-anticipated break from them, but I think it might be time to get back into it✨ What do you think?

As someone with Japanese heritage, it also feels really special to see more AAPI artists and designers being celebrated in this space on such a global platform like Spoonflower💛 Check out their post for links to all the incredibly talented designers!

Hi friends👋 Hope you are having a great week! I'm finally back to sharing more from the latest Sidewalk Pals collection😻

Thought it would be fun to mix in a few placement prints alongside the patterns, so here's the first one featuring the (secret) main character of Sidewalk Pals - the black kitty🖤

She's a curious little cat who wants to join in the fun…but just not quite sure how to mingle with all the pups taking over the streets🐾 If you look carefully, you'll spot her in a few patterns across this playful collection😉
