Tom Mosser Design Tom Mosser. The creator of the iconic “A Golden Retriever at the Museum”.

I’m Tom Mosser, a contemporary artist whose work blends storytelling, humor, and iconic imagery across sports, dogs, and design. I’m widely known for my Museum Series dog art, including the viral painting A Golden Retriever at the Museum, a collection of art-history-inspired dog art prints and dog wall art celebrated by collectors around the world. Alongside the Museum Series, I create bold, graphic Penn State wall art and Penn State posters, as well as original artwork built around familiar symbols like sports balls, which I use as visual anchors to spark emotion and memory. Whether the subject is a golden retriever, a tennis ball, or Penn State pride, my goal is to create art that feels personal, joyful, and instantly recognizable. We Are Art.
“The Shrine” — now available as a signed & embellished fine art print.
These 16" x 20" archival paper prints were beautifully produced by PGH Print Ship and measure 20" x 24" overall with the white border.
Each one will be personally signed and hand-embellished by me, making every print a little different.
The prints as well as the original painting are on display at the iconic Douglas Albert Gallery in State College and online at tommosserdesign.com.

A little Saturday studio view from Pittsburgh…

I’ve wanted to put my heart into a painting of the Nittany Lion Shrine for a long time.

Like so many Penn Staters, I’ve walked past the Lion countless times over the years, and I wanted to see if I could capture not only the Shrine itself, but some of the feeling that comes with it.

I spent much of this summer working on the painting. I wanted the Lion to feel almost sculptural, so I built much of it with palette knives and layer upon layer of paint.

Still a few final touches to go, but it’s getting close.

Next week, it makes the trip from my Pittsburgh studio back to State College and the Douglas Albert Gallery.
