Meet Bennett the Bear.

His story isn’t about the game. It’s about what happens *after* the applause.

When the field clears. When the crowd goes home. When no one’s watching.

That’s when character shows up.

“After the Applause” Bennett’s story helps you teach your kids that the real lesson isn’t about winning. It’s about who they choose to be when the moment passes.

We’re not just teaching kids about the game. We’re teaching them about who they want to be after it.

Six things happening under a post-game meltdown, none of which are about the game. Swipe through before the next tournament weekend.

Your child is learning, in real time, whether a hard feeling is survivable. The tool you hand them now is the voice they will use on themselves at sixteen.

Which slide landed for you?

The meltdown after the game is rarely about the game. Your child did not come undone because they lost. They came undone because no one has handed them a way to carry what losing feels like. That is not a behavior problem. It is a missing tool.
Bennett does not change when the scoreboard does, and his book shows a child what that looks like from the inside.
Comment BENNETT and we will send his story free, the full digital edition, so it is in your hands before the next game.

There is a version of body positive parenting that waits for the crisis before starting.

Waits for the tearful question at bedtime. Waits for the comment that comes home from the pool party. Waits for the moment the swimsuit stays in the drawer before asking why.

But the most powerful body positive work happens before the difficulty arrives.

Not as intervention. As preparation.

A child who has already encountered a body positive story, who has already walked alongside a character who moved through doubt and returned to joy in her own body, arrives at the real moment with something already inside them.

A map. A language. A truth they have already held once, safely, and know how to find again.

The Suki the Hippo StoryTime ToolKit was made for families ready to do that body positive work now. Not because something is wrong. Because something beautiful is worth protecting early. 🌺

Body positivity for children is not a July conversation.

It is an everyday one.

The beliefs children form about their bodies, their right to take up space, their freedom to be joyful without apology, are shaped over time, through the weight of ordinary moments that accumulate into something lasting.

This month, we returned again and again to one body positive truth.

A child's shine is theirs. Their joy in their body was never up for approval. And no matter what gets said, the path back to that joy is always available.

The Suki the Hippo StoryTime ToolKit exists to hold space for that truth in a way children can see, touch, and come back to.

If this is a body positive conversation worth continuing in your home or classroom, Suki is still available through the link in bio.

Because some things are too important to be seasonal. 🌺

Children rarely announce the moment their relationship with their body shifts.

They just stop.

The activity they used to love no longer holds the same pull. The swimsuit stays in the drawer. The twirl that used to come without a second thought becomes something that requires a decision.

These are the quiet body positive warning signs. Not dramatic. Easy to miss. But worth paying close attention to.

Because the longer a child practises making themselves smaller, the more habitual it becomes. The more it starts to feel like just who they are rather than a response to something that happened.

The body positive response is not urgency. It is steadiness.

Stay close. Create safety around their body without drawing attention to the change. Bring the conversation in gently, through story, through play, through returning to the activities they love without making it a moment.

And trust that the path back to joy in their body is always shorter than it feels. 🌺

Raising a body positive child is not about making sure they always feel beautiful.

It is about making sure they always feel free.

Free to move in their body without monitoring themselves. Free to splash, twirl, and take up space without waiting for permission. Free to exist in their body on an ordinary day without it requiring a second thought.

That quality, the ease of inhabiting yourself without apology, is the deeper body positive goal. And it is not built through compliments, though those matter. It is built through the accumulated climate of daily life.

Through what is said and what is left unsaid. Through how the adults in a child's world talk about their own bodies. Through the stories a child is given that show them a body like theirs, experiencing joy, freely and without condition.

Body positive parenting is not a conversation. It is a practice. Small, consistent, and built one ordinary moment at a time.

That is what makes it last. 🌺

Every family has its own way of making memories, and we loved getting a little glimpse into Anna's.
Watching her little ones excitedly unbox Suki, explore every surprise inside, and immediately welcome her with hugs reminded us why we created the StoryTime ToolKit™ in the first place.
Stories become even more meaningful when they're shared together. Thank you, Anna, for letting us be part of your family's story. We hope Suki becomes a friend your little ones reach for during storytime, playtime, and all the little moments in between. 💗
We can't wait to follow your family's adventures with Suki. 🌺
