✨It’s not just taking in the side seams,
It’s…..

-Removing any lace or beading on top of seams
-Opening up the top of each seam carefully as to not rip the fabric (if taking in through the waist- the waist seam needs to get opened up and all those layers through skirt will also get taken in to match the new waist circumference)
-removing any boning from the seam (trimming boning if necessary)
-measuring, pinning, sewing at least 4 seams (this includes the lining layers- but sometimes there more)
-removing original seam stitches
-pressing each seam
-sewing boning back in (on machine
or by hand)
-closing seams back up (on machine or by hand)
-hand sewing lace back on top of seams

So many steps whether you just need
“a smidge taken in” or a couple of inches -which is why the cost is the same no matter how much needs to be adjusted.

Shoutout to my husband Patrick Joseph for surprising me & having Heidi Hager Artist create this insanely gorgeous piece for my new studio space! Not only is Heids a talented artist, she’s my cousin who’s more like a sister🩷

✨Alterations don’t have to be major in order to make a huge impact.
Lindsey’s gown already fit pretty good and just needed some minor adjustments to achieve her custom fit.

✨Alterations included:
-Hem
-Removal of innermost tulle petty coat layer to reduce the volume
-Hips let out
-Lace coverage added to top of bodice bust
-Snap added to bustier corset and dress so everything stayed in place throughout the night
-Bustle
