We started selling LuLaRoe with the goal of being able to fund our Alert Dog for Gwen and Scottie. The girls and the family received our Alert Dog, Chevy, yesterday. Thank you all for supporting and shopping with us since we've started with LLR and for helping make this possible. Also we owe a huge thank you to the Ron and Vicki Santo Diabetic Alert Dog Foundation for their support in this journey.

Just like her older sister she has a rare metabolic condition called Glycogen Storage Disease Type-0 or GSD-0.

GSD-0 affects their livers ability to store glycogen long term which causes bouts of hypoglycemia, their blood sugar drops. During times of increased lows the girls both develop keytones which are a sign that their bodies are breaking down fat and muscle tissue when sugar stores are unavailable.

This condition is something we caught after our older daughter was a few years old and something we kept an eye on with the little one as soon as she was born. Didn't take long for symptoms, which we then knew what to look for, to present themselves.

As a result of increased spells of hypoglycemia and keytone production both girls are on a routine treatment using corn starch and protein three times a day. In order to keep up with this, both girls have had a g-tube placed.

We decided to commit to LuLaRoe when it became clear we needed to do more to keep their sugars in check, so we began saving and fundraising for a Hypoglycemia Alert Dog or Diabetic Alert Dog.

This service dog will be able to alert the girls and ourselves when their blood sugars are approaching a dangerous low, giving us an extra piece of mind that they will always be safe.

Our girls are why we sell. 💕
