It's Sunday, a beautiful day for July, and Henry came to work. 😊

The cases are filled with Sunday favorites and pies, gooey butter cakes, stollens, and peanut coffee cakes are perfect for visiting and sharing. Here's a reminder that lava brownies, mini gooey butters, almond, chocolate, ham & cheese, and spinach feta croissants are delightful for work or afternoon snacks.
There's also a whole Georgie Porgie German chocolate pie available this morning, too. 😉

New Swede Dishcloths are in and if you're a turtle or owl lover we may have the perfect one for you. 🐢🦉

And I've been faithfully sending out my five postcards every week to customers. It's never too late to share a note with friends & family about your adventures or just to say "hello". 🥰

It's Saturday, the most delicious day of the weekend albeit a wet one at the moment. ☔️

Cannolis, carrot cakes, cinnamon rolls, croughnuts, and so much more is available and if you haven't tried one of the lattice topped fruit pies from Wood Bakery, you really should.
We had one apple pie left on Sunday and Don brought it home....lucky for us we also had a can of RediWhip. The pies are filled with whole fruit not bits and pieces and even on Wednesday the crust was still firm and delightful......but I'm not trying to sell you a pie, I'm just telling you how wonderful they are. 🥧 🙃

The Pocahontas Old Ripley Fire Department Picnic is today and the parade starts at 6pm. We shined Henry up last night and he's ready unless rain cancels the parade......we'll just toss candy at customers tomorrow. 😁

Everyone is open for shopping and dining and we're here until 5pm.

You might get tired of looking at photos of the old hotel but just humor us for a bit. 😉

Don added the sign today and it looks wonderful! We've been waiting for a replacement "H" for 10 days so he had time to make a good plan. This morning he drilled the bolts in the brick, then added the board, and finally carefully attatched the letters. I'm glad I wasn't around to see him on the lift with all of it.....I've been told it was quite an achievement and I would have been a nervous wreck watching him. 🫣

There's more painting to do and a couple other ta-das we're planning and although the building is still a long way from being completed it's a know fact that when you dress yourself up a little it makes everything else better.....so now she's a little prettier on the outside while all of the inside work is still progressing.

It's Sunday and we're open with fresh donuts & pastries. 😊

Friday Dolores picked up her 250th Anniversary barn quilt by Robyn Hargan that she won in the drawing last week and she was so excited to have it......congratulations Dolores. 🇺🇸

And we spent the 4th of July getting the first coat of paint on the old National Hotel......Don's mom even came to help.
Between the heat, humidity, and a little rain we were able to get a good start although I noticed a few spots that were missed. When the second round of rain looked like it was coming but then didn't we were ready to call it a day. 🙃
The Victorian shingles over the porch haven't been painted, the presidential medallions will get freshened up with some fancy gold, and there's a few other accents we're adding, too.
We'll spend our evenings this week finishing up. Stay tuned. 😉

Here's your reminder: the cases and cabinet will be filled with all of the Saturday favorites tomorrow, Friday July 3rd, and we'll be closed on Saturday July 4th, and open on Sunday July 5th with regular hours 8am-5pm. 🇺🇸

Peach, apple, & cherry pies, angel food cakes both plain & iced, gooey butters, triple tops, star cookies, red/white/blue macarons, and more will be available Friday for your holiday get togethers and we're open 9am-5pm.

And our two photo stand in boards from Robyn Hargan will be up, too.
Who do you want to be, Statue of Liberty, Betsy Ross, or Uncle Sam? 🥰

It's the 4th of July weekend and it's two things Tuesday. 🇺🇸

First, here's a reminder that we are open on Friday with regular hours, closed on Saturday because the bakeries are closed, and open on Sunday July 5th regular hours.
⭐️Friday 9am-5pm
⭐️Saturday 4th of July CLOSED
⭐️Sunday 8am-5pm

And secondly, everything that's usually available on Saturday will be available on Friday this week. Cannolis, cream horns, carrot cakes, macarons, angel food cakes, peanut coffee cakes, gooey butters, stollens, danish, and donuts will in the cases and cabinet. The single slice pies were a hit so Georgie Porgie German chocolate pies and peach pies will available again, too.

In other news, the winner of Robyn Hargan's 250th Anniversary barn quilt is Dolores Shoot and she'll have plenty of time to get it sat on her in porch in time for the 4th. 😉

We have a store filled with flags, candies, tshirts, handmade patriotic pieces, history books, postcards, and more to make your holiday fantastic.

So to recap:
🇺🇸 Regular hours on Friday and we'll be bursting at the seams with the good stuff from all three bakeries.
🇺🇸 We're closed on the 4th.
🇺🇸 We'll have regular Sunday hours and donuts on the 5th.

It's Sunday.......and the humidity is already setting in....🙃

Sundays are for winding down from the weekend and planning for the week ahead......with donuts, pastries, and breads. 😁
The cases are full and you'll be happy you stocked up later in the week when you're wanting a sweet snack.
Pickled quail eggs, broccoli, asparagus, dilly corn, and okra pair perfectly with lunch/dinner/picnic or BBQ, too.

Patriotic flags and primitive inspired pieces are available and the drawing for Robyn's 250th Anniversary barn quilt is at 3pm.....there's a few hours left to enter. 🇺🇸

It's Saturday......the most delicious day of the weekend. 🥰

What's delightful on a warm & humid day? Cannolis, carrot cake, mousse cake, danish, gooey butter, donuts, and croughnuts........pretty much anything as long as you're inside where it's cool. 🙃
Peach pie slices are in the case alongside Georgie Porgie German chocolate pies, too.

New car coasters are available and there's definitely something for everyone now, and you'll want to check the new additions to the candy wall & soda wall.....you may see your old favorites or find your new favorite. 😁
