Last pack magic.
Avery The Poke Kid called it, opened the pack, and pulled Jirachi SIR.
Not just any chase. The Wish Pokémon.
Jirachi sleeps a thousand years. It wakes for seven days. The wishes written on the tags on its head are the ones it is said to grant. On the card itself the first attack is named Wish Granter.
Avery spent years opening packs through hospital rooms and hard days. He hit 100K. He got the silver play button. Then he asked the last pack for magic and the universe handed him the one Pokémon whose entire story is a wish that only comes once.
We don’t pretend we know what he wished for. We only know what the rest of us saw: a kid who still smiled at cardboard, signed off the same way he always did — “See you next time, trainers” — and left the hobby a card that now means something it didn’t mean last week.
From ashes to grails. Some pulls are just hits. This one feels like an answer.
