Daisy fleabane, coreopsis, rose campion, lilies, and salvia are some of the flowers blooming in our garden.

Our lilies are just getting started and we have so many different kinds. We will definitely post pictures as they start blooming!

Not one of these peonies looked like they were going to make it. 48 hours ago, I took 100 peonies out of my cooler to send to a local floral shop. I was so sad to see that all of them looked like they were dead. All were dry, limp, smooshed, and beyond wilted. I was about to throw them all away and then decided to hold back the best of the worst just to see what would happen.

As you can see, they made it. Not only did they revive beautifully but they look as fresh as they day I picked them. They smell wonderful too. I’m so glad that I kept them for this little experiment.

Although I couldn’t and wouldn’t send off dead looking peonies to customers or clients, I at least know that peonies are super resilient. They were one of my favorite flowers before but just may be my all time favorite now because of this.

Learning more and more every season. I’m amazed how resilient peonies can be. They went from flat, dry, and wilted to looking freshly cut.

Completely in love with these flowers. I a huge fan!

It’s always an honor to bring flowers from my garden to one of our local flower shops.

Today, instead of delivering the 100 peonies I had saved in our cooler for Mother’s Day holiday, I sent some that were freshly cut this morning. Sadly, the entire batch I have been harvesting everyday, wrapping, and storing in our cooler, did not make the cut. As I unwrapped them to make sure they were good for delivery, I realized that their quality was not up to par. I’m not sure why. I didn’t do anything different than last year, but I suspect it’s because of their development through an unusual spring. We lost many buds to a two day freeze followed by very hot days. Many of our plants never produced flowers and the ones that were starting to produce were killed. But, the garden is still beautiful and even though it’s not as plentiful as last few years, it’s always so lovely to walk the garden!

I’ll be harvesting flowers every day to fulfill orders up to Mother’s Day. If you are an interested in ordering please visit my bio for our website to start the process.

And these aren’t even all of the many many different colors of irises we have in the garden. They are pretty amazing.

Peony season is the best!

Every day I walk the garden in the morning and in the evening, sometimes more. I pick peonies to store in my cooler for orders and I pick some for arrangements in my home. It’s so much fun.
