LONG POST from Carrie (the owner)
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For the past 10.5 years of owning BoldSoul Boutique, I have never had to seek significant sponsorships to support our trips to Haiti to our children’s home. Because of you’re purchases the trips were primarily covered for flights, school books, hired translators, provided rice to those in need that come to our clinic, transportation by boat and car (the gas) all while co sponsoring the Children's Home of Pestel, Haiti ona monthly basis.
Due to escalating unrest in Haiti serving this community has become more challenging. Despite these obstacles my commitment to serve continues to remain unwavering. I want to be super transparent about my own situation with BoldSoul Boutique, unfortunately Tanger Outlets, Savannah (Tanger Outlets) did not renew my lease, after almost a decade in business, which has brought feelings of heartbreak, bitterness, and grief, it is much like loosing your identity or even a love one who you have nurtured for 10 years.
BoldSoul Boutique at Tanger Outlets wasn't just a haven for Jesus loving girlies, it was a place that was safe to share sacred stories of life, it was a place to write your prayers down, it was a small community that formed within a community, I watched children who shopped in my store with their mother's, eventually become beloved employees. You always came in and received encouragement in some capacity. That was always the goal, because that is WJWD. The impact extended beyond our local community and our staff who became family, it impacted a small island in Haiti, where our children's home is located. With the closure of our Savannah store, which heavily funded nine years of trips to spread the Love of Jesus and provided medical assistance, we now face issues with supporting this mission. We have an abundance of logistical challenges every time we travel to south Haiti. The situation logistically has worsened, we can no longer fly directly into Port- au - Prince due to the gang violence, and major airlines have ceased operations there. Now we must navigate 2-3 different airlines to reach South Haiti, relying on missionary flights to overcome various challenges which includes the risk of meds getting stolen or other logistical hurdles such as weight limits and lost or delayed luggage. We no longer have this support, due to the closing of this store, which was quite unexpected!
Given our current circumstances, we are reaching out for support through local fundraising and worship nights as well. I shared a local Pooler walk on my personal page earlier this week that also helped to find this trip. If you're unable to attend these events, I kindly ask you to consider donating as little as $10. Every contribution makes a difference and I genuinely appreciate any help provided. It is quite difficult to ask for help as I have always been the one giving in whatever capacity I am able, however continuing our mission is something I am driven to do, any way I can. I will continue sharing information about upcoming events here, and if you are interested in participating or helping us connect with churches that would be willing to host worship nights or want to invite me to speak, please reach out. I would love to share my journey with you and how God continues to supply our every need even up to the very last minute. We leave at the end of April and truly need all of the support we can get. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed and committed to helping me over the years by shopping at BoldSoul! .
