Not Tim Curry too!
Tim Curry (1946–2026)

The world lost a true original. Tim Curry was so much more than the unforgettable Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Over a career spanning nearly six decades, he brought us iconic performances in Clue, IT, Legend, Annie, and Muppet Treasure Island, along with countless stage and voice roles.

But perhaps his greatest legacy was his fearless individuality. Rocky Horror became a cultural phenomenon that gave generations of people permission to be different, challenge convention, express themselves, and find community with others who didn’t quite fit the mold.

After suffering a major stroke in 2012, Tim continued to work, make public appearances, support the entertainment community, and face his disability with humor and resilience.

An extraordinary talent, an unmistakable voice, and a wonderfully unconventional human being.

“Don’t dream it. Be it.” ❤️

Rest in peace, Tim Curry. Your light will remain on the stage for a very long time.

RIP to a legend in not only music but to humanity. Dolly Parton’s philanthropy is unusually broad and often focused on people who have fewer resources or opportunities. Here’s a short compilation:

* Children & literacy: Her Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has provided hundreds of millions of free books to children from birth to age five, regardless of family income. What began in her home county in Tennessee has expanded internationally.
* Women & girls: Parton has consistently used her career and philanthropy to promote women’s independence, education, opportunity, and equal treatment. She has also supported organizations serving women and children, including domestic-violence and family-support causes.
* LGBTQ+ community: She has been a longtime and outspoken supporter of LGBTQ+ people, frequently emphasizing acceptance, dignity, and the right of people to be themselves- even when doing so was less common among mainstream country performers.
* Black communities & racial justice: In 2020, Parton publicly expressed support for Black Lives Matter and spoke plainly against racism. She also renamed a Civil War-themed attraction at Dollywood because she felt its romanticized imagery was inappropriate.
* Families in crisis: Following the devastating 2016 Great Smoky Mountains wildfires, her My People Fund provided direct monthly financial assistance to families who lost their homes, ultimately distributing millions of dollars.
* Education & economic opportunity: Through the Dollywood Foundation and other initiatives, she has funded scholarships and educational programs and invested substantially in the economically disadvantaged Appalachian community where she grew up.

What stands out about Dolly Parton is that much of her giving tends to focus on literacy, poverty, children, women, health, disaster victims, and treating marginalized people with dignity- often accompanied by her message that people don’t have to be alike to deserve love and respect. What a role model she has been.
