I took a couple days to recover from Petals in Port and spend some time with my mama on Sunday… but I wanted to say thank you.

Truthfully, I wasn’t fully prepared for how emotional it would feel watching this event actually come to life and seeing so many people show up in such a joyful way.

Seeing people wandering downtown with flowers in hand, stopping into shops, sipping tea, laughing with friends and family, building bouquets one stem at a time… it felt exactly the way I had hoped it would when we first started spitballing this idea months ago.

Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, shared posts, encouraged the event, and showed up with such warmth and enthusiasm. It genuinely meant so much.

A huge thank you to the downtown Port Washington businesses that jumped in and helped create such a welcoming, thoughtful experience throughout the day. And to for the incredible handcrafted flowers that made the whole thing feel so special and unique.

This event took a village behind the scenes, and I’m feeling really grateful for all of it right now.

And based on the number of people already asking… I have a feeling Petals in Port may have just become a new Port Washington tradition.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who shape our lives in quiet, steady, unforgettable ways.

To the moms raising families, cheering from the sidelines, showing up day after day, and somehow holding everything together — we see you.

To our own moms, whose love and lessons stay with us long after childhood.

To the friends who mother through kindness, encouragement, meals dropped off, late-night texts, and “how are you really doing?” conversations.

And to the mentors, aunties, grandmas, teachers, neighbors, and chosen family who help guide us, inspire us, and remind us who we are when we forget.

Today is for all of you.

Thank you for the care you give so freely and the love that ripples farther than you probably realize.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon filming with TMJ4’s What’s Brewing Wisconsin for Petals in Port 🌸

And honestly… it captured the feeling of this event perfectly.

A relaxed stroll through downtown Port Washington.
Stopping into local shops.
Collecting flowers along the way.
Sipping tea, enjoying little bites, and building a bouquet one stem at a time 💐

This was always meant to feel less like a “big event” and more like a lovely spring day out with your favorite people.
