People said this mission wouldn’t scale.

Spectrum Designs started in a backyard barn with one mission: create meaningful employment for autistic adults. Today, we've grown into a nonprofit social enterprise with three locations and a 100-person team powered by inclusive hiring and a neurodiverse workforce, creating custom merch through screen printing, direct-to-film, embroidery, and promotional products.

Hiring our 100th employee isn't the finish line. It's proof that when opportunity comes first, people and businesses both grow.

Help us show what's possible. Share this to help more employers see what's possible when opportunity comes first. 💙

“When we support Preferred Source businesses, we are investing in people and in our communities. We are helping individuals develop skills, gain valuable work experience, earn a paycheck, and build confidence.” - Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte.

Today, we were proud to welcome representatives from NYSID, Purchasing That Powers Employment, elected officials, and community leaders to Spectrum Designs to advocate for the future of New York State’s Preferred Source Program.

Preferred Source creates training, competitive wages, and meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. A recent poll found that 85% of surveyed New York voters believe expanding the program should be a priority for state lawmakers.

A special thank you to Joseph Ramirez, Regional Representative from the Office of Governor Kathy Hochul; Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte; Toni Kessel, representing Delia DeRiggi-Whitton - Nassau County Legislator; Councilwoman Christine Liu; North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena ; Port Washington Police Commissioner Sean McCarthy; and community leader Kim Keiserman for joining us and showing their support.

And thank you to NYSID for continuing to champion inclusive employment across New York State.

Autistic adults don’t need more awareness. They need more opportunities.

At Spectrum Designs, our neurodiverse workforce creates custom merch through screen printing, embroidery, and more, all while helping expand meaningful autism employment.

We believe ability isn’t the barrier. Too often, opportunity is.

And when businesses choose where to order their merch, they have the power to help change that.

Who makes your merch matters. Choose Spectrum Designs and help create the next opportunity. 💙

If Spectrum Designs had Real Housewives taglines… we’d have a LOT to say. 💅😂

Our team works hard creating custom merch, supporting autism employment, and growing opportunities for autistic adults — but apparently, we’re also ready for reality TV.

The personalities? Big.
The drama? Mostly production deadlines.
The mission? Always meaningful employment. 💙

Which tagline wins? And who deserves their own confessional? 👀

Most viral videos disappear. Ours helped create jobs.

Two years ago, 30+ million people watched our story. Today, Spectrum Designs has three locations, 100+ employees, and a workforce that’s 70% autistic.

I’m one of those employees and I get to use my job to help create opportunities for others like me.

Views are temporary. Opportunity can change a life.

Share our story or choose Spectrum Designs for your next merch order. 💙

People are too quick to dismiss autistic special interests. That's a mistake.

Joe is a Production Assistant at Spectrum Designs, our nonprofit social enterprise creating employment for autistic adults. Since he was five years old, he's dedicated himself to horseback riding, becoming a multi-time champion, competing in both neurodivergent and neurotypical horse shows, earning wins against neurotypical riders, and proving just how far passion, practice, and opportunity can take someone.

Special interests aren't something to fix. They can build confidence, develop expertise, and unlock potential most people never see.

Tell us about your special interest below. 💙

A little more self-love can go a long way. 💙

We asked our team a simple question: What do you love about yourself?

At Spectrum Designs, we believe meaningful employment is about more than a paycheck. It’s about creating opportunities for people to grow, contribute, and recognize the strengths they bring to the workplace.

Their answers are a reminder that everyone has something worth celebrating.

What’s one thing you love about yourself? 💙

Most employers want to build a more inclusive workplace.

The challenge isn't intention. It's knowing what actually helps.

The truth is, many of the supports that help autistic and other neurodivergent employees succeed; clear expectations, structured training, consistent communication, and reasonable accommodations, make work better for everyone.

At Spectrum Designs, we've seen firsthand how small changes can open the door to meaningful employment and long-term success.
