Think pinball is just a game? Dylan would tell you otherwise.

For Dylan, our Head of Marketing, pinball is more than a hobby, it's a special interest that brings him joy and something he genuinely loves sharing with others. It's one of the many things that makes him who he is.

At Spectrum Designs, we know meaningful employment is only part of the story. As a nonprofit social enterprise creating employment opportunities for autistic adults, we celebrate the unique passions, talents, and personalities that make every member of our team who they are.

We'd love to hear from you: What's a hobby or special interest you could talk about for hours? Share it in the comments, and if Dylan's story made you smile, please share this post. Stern Pinball

Why do we need Disability Pride Month?

Because disabled people have spent too long being underestimated, overlooked, and told they need to change to fit into systems that weren’t built for them.

Disability Pride Month recognizes disability as part of human diversity. That includes autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, chronic illnesses, and physical disabilities.

At Spectrum Designs, we see what happens when neurodiverse employees are given clarity, support, and real opportunity. They thrive, contribute, and lead. Pride isn’t about ignoring challenges. It’s about rejecting shame and building a world where people don’t have to hide who they are to belong. That’s why this month matters.

Most companies say they want neurodiverse hires… then design interviews many autistic people can’t pass.

That gap is where inclusion either becomes real or stays performative.

At Spectrum Designs, inclusion doesn’t start on day one of employment. It starts long before that. From how we approach hiring, to how we support onboarding, to how we structure daily work, everything is designed with accessibility and success in mind.

We are a nonprofit social enterprise built around autism employment and inclusive hiring, with a neurodiverse workforce working across screen printing, embroidery, fulfillment, and custom merch production.

More than 70% of our team is autistic—and they’re not just present in the room. They are contributing, collaborating, problem-solving, and leading every day.

When you remove unnecessary barriers and actually design for people, you don’t lower standards - you unlock talent that’s been overlooked for too long.

This is what inclusion looks like when it’s built into the system, not added on top of it.

Send this to someone who still thinks hiring differently means lowering expectations.

What’s for lunch at Spectrum Designs? 🍴

A workday is made up of more than the projects we complete — it’s also the small moments in between. Lunch breaks are a chance for our team to recharge, connect, and enjoy a little time away from production.

From screen printing and embroidery to custom merch production, our employees bring their skills and personalities to everything they do.

As a nonprofit social enterprise focused on autism employment, we believe a truly inclusive workplace is one where people are supported throughout the entire workday, not just while they’re completing a task.

What’s your go-to lunch during the workday? 👇

What came out of our shop this week? 👀

This week, custom orders for West Virginia State Parks, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the NYC Mayor's Officemoved through our production floor.

From screen printing and embroidery to heat pressing and quality control, every step was completed by the talented neurodiverse workforce at Spectrum Design - a nonprofit social enterprise creating meaningful employment opportunities for autistic adults.

Every order we produce demonstrates what's possible when businesses invest in inclusive hiring. Our customers receive high-quality custom apparel and promotional products while helping create careers where talent, not disability, defines opportunity.

This is what inclusive hiring looks like in action.

We asked our team what they love about America.

Heading into July 4th, responses came from across our neurodiverse workforce at Spectrum Designs & Spectrum Suds.

Autism employment, inclusive hiring, screen printing, embroidery, custom merch, and a laundry service all come together here inside a nonprofit social enterprise built around real work and real opportunity.

For some, it’s fireworks, hot dogs, and food. For others, it’s work, inclusion, and belonging.

Share this and comment what you love about America. 🇺🇸

80% of autistic adults are unemployed. That should concern all of us.

At Spectrum Designs, we're working to create meaningful autism employment through a nonprofit social enterprise built around real jobs in screen printing, embroidery, fulfillment, and custom merch production.

There is no shortage of talent. The challenge is creating workplaces that embrace inclusive hiring and recognize the strengths of a neurodiverse workforce.

The unemployment rate isn't inevitable. It's a problem we can solve.

Join us in creating more opportunities for autistic adults. Share this post to help spread the message.

“What do you mean you’re an inclusive employer?”

Behind every job title is real work, real skill, and real opportunity.
At Spectrum Designs, an inclusive hiring model supports an autism employment workforce through screen printing, embroidery, and custom merch production.

This isn’t about checking a box.   It’s about building a real nonprofit social enterprise where people grow, lead, and succeed.
That’s what inclusion actually looks like when it’s done right.

Share this with someone who still thinks inclusion is just a buzzword.
