An Arne Mason small fly box in chestnut. I call it Slash.
The Italian chestnut I use is almost always clear of “range marks” (bug bites, scars, barbed wire scratches) so when something like this shows up I take note.
It’s funky, it’s unique. It’s a 1 of 1 never to be seen again. Let me know if you want it.

Beyond the stitching and edge finishing and doing things TO is protection FROM. The photo here is how I protect the brass hardware from scrapes and protect the leather from the brass hardware during installation.
