Portland Fashion Week. Landed in my lap with ease. SOO much ease. I went that first day wearing black pants and a sweater tank that Iโd bought a fews days before. I had my 10 dresses in 2 garments bags, and no clothing rack. I was supposed to bring one, I found out. But I didnโt have one. So they found me one to share. I waited for models to arrive and as they did, a dress volunteered to be the one. And it would fit perfectly. At some point, I approached a girl I thought was a model, but she was not. She was an assistant and the rest of the night, Calia was by my side. A blessing. Her mother arrived to support her and we got to chatting. Geri had long silver hair, a beautiful woman with powerful energy. I half-jokingly asked her to model for me. She said YES. She put on the Queen dress in the light color and again, it fit perfectly. Even her own jewelry was perfect match for the dress. The result was stunning. The rest of the night was a blur, but I distinctly remember taking this photo. My two Queens. You can see the happiness emanating from me.
The next three nights we would do it all again, with some new models every night, but that first night will always stand out. Everything was new. Fresh. Gratitude overflowing.
