Dirk Bikkemberg boots recrafted.

The original glued-on trim was replaced with real full grain leather welts on a new leather midsole. The welt was stitched to the midsole, and the midsole was Blake stitched and nailed to the uppers.

The original metal and wood designer heel bases were reattached and new rubber half sole and heel coverings were installed. These rubber parts can now be replaced using only adhesives without damaging the stitching holding the leather midsoles and uppers together. The cracking, brittle leather-composite trim is now replaced with real leather welt and can last a very long time with some periodic leather conditioner application.
