So I haven't properly photographed this dress yet but I figured I better post it as my sewing brain has already moved on to a new project.

This was my Sound of Music goal dress. As a Liesel,I felt that I I have always needed to have a dress made out of curtains so that one day I can go to Salzburg and dance around. That's what this dress is. I got these beautiful curtains from and I instantly saw them turn into dirndls as she put them in my hands.

I got the pattern off of etsy from who is a wonderful sewist who makes pdf patterns out of KΓΆln. I was also very happy to stretch my German skills and learn sewing terms in German as it combines two things that I love.

This one is the dirndl Donna with some modifications. Some out of necessity and some by choice. I added the inseam pockets, because I believe every dress should have pockets.
I don't have an apron so instead of having a zipper enclosure on the skirt I added panel facings along the front and made it a completely button-down wrap dress.
Also the skirt is generally gathered or pleated, but I accidentally cut the fabric out of the 36 size pattern instead of the 38 size pattern (36 was the first muslin size) so I simply eased the skirt on to the bodice and it looks beautiful.
I did the hemline a little bit differently than I usually do by taking time to properly hand baste it and ease it before I machine stitched it.
The inside bodice lining is hand-stitched as is the facings for the the front of the dress. The buttons are also done by hand.
I'm incredibly proud of it and it turned out really well. I bought another dirndl pattern from her and I'm very excited to try that one as well.

I added some crappy pictures of me trying my dirndl top on underneath it in my room. Please excuse the s***y lighting and photography.

I made this dress for out of her special printed wedding artichoke fabric that was designed by
Latima wanted a straightforward design with pockets, a flair to the skirt a very low back.
I had some fun altering the pattern to give it the shape I wanted. After tracing the size I needed from the tissue paper, I cut the back out of it using a curved ruler, and made a mock-up for her to come try to see how it hung. The back darts did give me a little bit of trouble as once they are sewn in it changes the shape of the curve, but it was easily fixable. I then took a different pattern and used the skirt shape from that pattern to create the skirt shape that I was looking for. She now has her very own dress design in my pattern library!
I had some trouble doing the invisible zip because I have been doing lapped zippers in most of my dresses for the last year or so, but I remembered how to do it pretty quickly. The zipper lining and the bottom hem are all hand-stitched to give it a good clean finish.
She was supposed to come pick it up from me and I had it hanging on my dress form when I realized I forgot to put pockets in it. Luckily I already have a couple of different pocket patterns that I keep easily accessible for all of my dresses. So it only took me about an hour to create the pockets open the side seams and create inseam pockets for her.
Overall I called the dress a success and she looks absolutely beautiful in it.

Being back in quarantine has got me acting like a scattershot. I'm working on too many projects at once and officially getting almost nothing done. Today I'm going to try to organize my life a little bit and make a list to help keep me on task.

October was a good month for my dress creativity and production. Trying to get myself re-inspired and focused by going through the Broadway Bridge set.

Custom apron for !
This one was pretty interesting and difficult because of the leather trim on the pockets, the leather straps and brass hardware. I had to go to the leather store at least once a week since starting the project because as I worked on it, I realized that I did not have everything that I needed.
I also learned that my little sewing machine is not necessarily hardcore enough to sew double layers of leather. I managed to make it work though and I'm pretty happy with the result.

This is the full version of the tattooers apron with separable vinyl snap legs and leg straps so that you can sit down and still keep your pants protected with easy clean up. It has huge side pockets and a double chest pocket with a pocket specifically to fit your phone.

This project took a village.
Thank you to for pushing me to grow and learn something new! Also thanks to for giving me such awesome work and support, to who always runs across the city to bring me tools on a moments notice and of course to who helps me run a million errands every week and takes these beautiful photos for me.

in her Skeleton button top! I made this to her measurements, which was an interesting trick as she lives in a different state, so fittings weren't an option.

She wore it to a punk rock wedding in California this this weekend and looks absolutely dazzling!
Congrats to Eddie and his family!

This piece finally made it's way home yesterday! I built this vest based off of Brandon's measurements alone, and likened it to the picture he sent me on the last slide. He wanted to be able to match his son.
I used 3 different kind of seam finishes on it and I learned how to make a block pattern that is particular to his body alone!

Skele Roses button front waist length top!
I have been working on this here and there for a while and finally finished it!
It is fully lined and is clean finished. I am really happy with the red topstitching and buttonholes. I always get a little nervous at adding popping contrast because while I am bright as all get out, I know many people aren't. I trusted my instinct however and am so pleased with the results!
This is a modified version of the Picnic Top available only on the Charm Patterns patreon.

I attempted to model it but got photobombed in my pitiful attempt.
