Hello, we are Jameesa and Bryan Oakley of Portland, Oregon. Like many others on election night 2016, our family was left in shock and disbelief. How could a man who campaigned on hate become President of the United States? What would this mean for our values of love, decency and inclusion? How could we rise above the oppression and make an impact? With inspiration from some like-minded friends we

realized we could utilize our professional skills and resources. Our family already owned and operated a small commercial sign printing business. Through visual displays of art and solidarity, we can inspire resistance and action. Love will win! We want to partner with individuals, organizations & movements to advance progressive causes through conversation and art. We want to help grass roots efforts raise funds and reach more people. Wendy Hernandez Reyes was deported. Her 2-year-old son, Orlín, was left behind.

He was placed in the care of a man who abused and murdered him.

This isn’t an isolated tragedy — it’s the predictable outcome of a system that tears families apart with no regard for who gets hurt in the process. Children are being separated from their parents with no oversight and no accountability.

Silence is evil’s biggest ally. This crisis affects everyone — citizens and non-citizens alike — and it’s time to speak up.

Joan Sebastian Guerrero was 26. A husband. A father. Legally in this country, on his way to work, not even the target of the operation that killed him.

He was murdered by ICE agents in Biddeford, Maine — the second ICE killing in under a week.

This isn’t “enforcement.” This is a pattern of state violence with zero accountability.

ICE doesn’t need reform. It needs to be abolished.

Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse.
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was a father who’d built a life here for 35 years.

BREAKING: The Senate has approved a War Powers Act resolution directing Trump to withdraw U.S. armed forces from hostilities against Iran — with four Republican senators breaking ranks to make it happen.

The resolution, brought by Sen. Tim Kaine under the 1973 War Powers Act, passed 50-48. It directs Trump to remove U.S. forces from Iran hostilities except where necessary to protect U.S. personnel or allies from imminent attack.

The Republicans who crossed the aisle:
🔴 Rand Paul (KY)
🔴 Susan Collins (ME)
🔴 Lisa Murkowski (AK)
🔴 Bill Cassidy (LA)

The Democrat who voted NO:
🔵 John Fetterman (PA)

Two Republicans — David McCormick (PA) and Mitch McConnell (KY) — didn’t even show up.

This follows House passage earlier this month, where four Republicans also sided with Democrats.

While the resolution doesn’t carry the force of law and doesn’t require Trump’s signature, it is a formal, bipartisan rebuke of further military escalation — two days after Trump threatened to bomb Iran “only harder.”

When the news finally reached Galveston on June 19th, 1865, it was two and a half years late. The Emancipation Proclamation had already been signed. Freedom had already been declared. But declared and delivered are two very different things.
That gap — between what’s promised and what’s actually given — is still the story. Voting rights are still being stripped. Black communities are still overpoliced and underserved. The wealth gap hasn’t closed. The fight looks different but it hasn’t stopped.
And neither has the resilience. Juneteenth has been celebrated since 1866, not because the work was done, but because joy is also resistance. Because hope is not naïve, it’s necessary.
