Well we got her in the building and that’s enough for today. Thank you to all the people who showed up and lent a hand. I am grateful and overwhelmed and feel very loved and cared for at this moment. 🙏😮‍💨❤️ I can’t wait to enjoy “unboxing” this new addition. I can’t wait to name her!

There’s an entire episode of South Park about snooty people smelling their own farts (“Smug Alert”) and pontificating about it. As someone who grew up in wine country and was subjected to a lot of this deeply obnoxious way of speaking about what was—to me—simply either you liked something or you didn’t I found this episode hilarious and spot on. Honestly, w**d culture isn’t that different. It’s really just people being verbally masturbatory about whatever they’re into and that’s not horrible it’s just that I’m busy and most people are just being annoying. I’ve been to “cuppings” and had to do them for work and the take away every time is that people can’t taste much of the “hints of orange” or “dark undertones” but they don’t want to look dumb so they kinda nod at the suggestions and gaslight themselves into thinking “hey maybe I DO taste that.” No you don’t. Like four people’s taste buds could have picked that up and that’s ok. I’d rather just skip the w**k fest. I say: try it, you’ll either like it or you won’t—personal preference is v real, and how you make coffee at home, the water you use, the grind, method, etc. those things are all huge factors in how things end up tasting. Coffee without pretentiousness is what I’m offering. Hope you dig it, and if not: it’s Portland bb, just throw a rock and you can hit a dozen other coffee roasters. I just ask that you support the smalls guys either way. ☕️🤝💕🤫

The good news is she’s home and it went as well as possible...the bad news is the patient wants to watch Pracical Magic and she’s refusing to share her trazadone. 👎 Waiting 2 ish weeks for the biopsies now and focused on healing up. Thank you so much for your support, friends. ❤️‍🩹🐾🤝💕

Words of encouragement and checking on the dogs for me or bringing me nice notes or just telling me you feel me and sharing what’s going on with you are all so appreciated. As uncomfortable and stressed out as I may be I also see the value in this space I’ve created—we all need a place to be uncool but still be together. Things are hard and it’s not personal—but it feels that way sometimes—which makes community and third spaces that much more necessary.
