Yesterday I worked Homestead Design Market - loads of new arrivals ~ furniture and smalls. And so many lovely customers popped in.
But have to thank my family and friends for giving me the time to work. (And need to pay those vet bills!) My husband was glued to the 4 legged kids, my step mom drove 30 miles to and from her home today to pick up more meds for our sick pup, my neighbor took Lucky for a very long walk since his sister still isn’t healthy enough to play with him yet. Also, one of my best friends and her dog popped by the store to give me a hug and to see how I was coping. Also the many comments on my posts about Lady are so kind.
I’m so grateful for my community of family and friends here in Portland and for all of you still sending good wishes and prayers.
Lady’s update today is this:
Little change. She seems to be more comfortable but so far from where her energy used to be~ those of you that shared a similar experience with your dogs ~ I’m looking in to all of your medical advice, thank you.
Thank you for everything~ all of you.
So grateful.

I think her face says it all. She’s still not feeling well, but she’s better than she was-
She’s eating and sleeping more comfortably and (sorry) pooping without blood. Lady is being treated for possible poison, possible intestinal issues, and a possible infection.
The veterinarian has ruled out a lot of things, but it is still a mystery. We might never know.
We are not leaving her alone, in case she starts getting really horribly sick again.
And of course Lucky is staying by her side.
I’m hoping and praying that one day soon I can say she is back to normal and playing with her little brother, cuz he really really misses that- he keeps trying to play with her now and she won’t participate. He’s quite sad now too.
Thank you so much for all of the well wishes and prayers.
We are so grateful.

First off, thank you!
All of your good thoughts and prayers were felt by us all.
Here’s our update so far:
They have not found a blockage.
Her bloodwork was good.
Her vitals are stable.
She has not thrown up today
She hasn’t been (sorry graphic alert) bleeding out the other end today either.
She is still sluggish- but she is finally eating a little.
We are still on 24 hour watch (as is Lucky, constantly by her side).
We still have no clue if she ate something bad for her, or if one of my neighbors could be using rat poison, or if she has a blockage that tests can’t see.
All we really know is that today she is a little better than yesterday~
And I truly believe that is your thoughts and prayers at work.
So, if I’m not being too pushy, please keep it up- we are so grateful for all of you.
I will respond to all of your comments from yesterday soon, but I’m feeling so emotional that I couldn’t read them without crying.

My girl is sick. Not a little sick, but really sick. Spent hours at the vet today. They’re running bunches of tests. There’s so many unknowns as to what it could be-
Knowing that a lot of you are dog people, I’m hoping you’ll send good thoughts for her and the folks that are taking care of her.
If you’ve followed me for very long, you know my dogs are so special to me.
So I’m truly hoping for a miracle.
Thank you for being here. And for following along on this crazy adventure of mine-it can be so rewarding and so heartbreaking rescuing dogs with unknown pasts.
I hope you all are well.

Progress in the studio.
My employees are on a long break.
If you swipe to the third photo, you’ll see the before pic- this cabinet is way in the back of the before photo. And Lucky is doing his Where’s Waldo routine in the third photo. Now he actually has space and a bed, sleeping next to his sister as usual.
