As we prepare to wrap up fall and step into a new season of life, we’re taking a moment to pause and reflect on the changes this autumn brought us. The beautiful, the bittersweet, and everything in between.

Marriage, loss, growing pains, and the quiet realization that our dogs are aging right alongside us. This season shifted us in ways we have no choice but to carry forward, but we’re grateful for every step that brought us here… even the hard ones.

And if you're heading into the holidays carrying grief or sorrow, just know you’re not alone.

Life doesn’t always look like a highlight reel. Sometimes it’s heavy. Sometimes it’s healing. Sometimes it’s both in the same week.

Wherever you are standing right now, we’re standing there with you ♡

Not every dog wants to be social.
Not every dog is “easy.”

Reality check: Your dog doesn’t owe the world a performance. And you don't owe Karen and her "friendly" off-leash dog any explanations.

Moe is a COVID puppy. He has some quirks - cautious with new people, reactive to some dogs, high prey drive per his breed, fence reactivity...

Here’s the thing:
It’s my job to keep him off the fence.
My responsibility to leash him.
My obligation to keep other dogs at a distance.

Is he the dog I envisioned?
No.

He’s the dog I got.

I'm Moe's person.

It's on me to advocate for him and to enforce his boundaries so he doesn’t have to.

So we work through his bad behaviors - we don't try to force him to be a dog that he simply isn't.

Dogs are a species that has evolved and adapted to live alongside us in the rapidly changing and chaotic world that we have created - remember that and give your dog some grace the next time they have a hard time on a walk.
