Roy Forever ❤️🔥 Scroll for some memories over the years… The last thing he said to me was “keep ‘em alive!” and it is a fitting last sentiment because it really has been my greatest honor to do exactly that, keeping his magnificent work out in the world, living so many different lives. His life and work will continue to inspire people for generations to come, just like he did ours. How lucky we were to be alive at the same time. 💫

One of my favorite restorations of all time - this pair was semi-eaten by a (very cute) dog named Ethel, Roy sent me a replacement misprint patch he had in his archive for the repair so I sewed the old one on the inside to memorialize the history!
Some of his best construction details were completely hidden, they’d reveal themselves if you wore the jeans hard enough for this sweet reward 🍭
Stitched this for me in 2016(?), love this Irish embroidery machine he used, I believe this was the machine he used for the size marks in later pairs. This is hanging in my studio and I look at it every single day 💙
My All-Duck sample jean given to me the day I got to hang out with my hero, he even hemmed them for me on the spot. This pair actually has a blank leather patch because he made them before printing the patches. I’ll never forget this day I got to spend with him in his Oakland shop and how giving he was of his time to me 💙

📍the most recent pair I repaired just a couple weeks ago. I always sent him photos of his jeans I’d get in for repair, he loved seeing your fades and always had something interesting to note about the particular pair. Really going to miss that.
