Have you met Apricot Irving? She’s one of our clients who’s pretty amazing if we say so ourselves. We highlighted her in one of our newsletters a few weeks ago and just thought we’d share because fabulous doesn’t have a timeline. 💅

Tell us a little about yourself, who is Apricot and what do you do?

- Nothing brings me more joy than helping emerging writers transform complicated life stories into art. I teach Creative Nonfiction at Pacific University’s MFA program in Creative Writing and coach private writing students. My first book, The Gospel of Trees, won the Oregon Book Award, and I’m at work on a fun new project that involves a lot of dancing. 

What do you do when you’re not writing?

- These days, I dance tango whenever possible—the free outdoor summer concerts in Director’s Park are pure magic. And I recently joined the incredible team of volunteers at Tanner Springs Park, one Portland’s lesser known gems: a meditative native plant garden where you can listen to a stream tumble over rocks in the middle of the city. 

If your wardrobe could describe your personality, what would it say about you?
- Bold colors and an adventurous spirit.

FAVOR! Have you given blood recently (or ever)? Lincoln high school is doing a blood drive on October 15th and here are two reasons you should consider donating. One, you could literally save someone’s life (read that sentence one more time, please). I really should probably just stop there, but two, my daughter Gwendolyn is trying to get as many people signed up as possible and this morning she was a bit confuzzled as to how she was going to do that when “everyone I know is 15 and you have to be 16 to give blood”. So I said I’d try to help. (And I’m proud of her❤️). So do us and more importantly, your community, a solid and sign up! Link in bio. 💋

Happy Birthday, Regina!! I hope Spain rolls out the red carpet for you, birthday girl! We love getting digital “postcards” (aka text messages) from our clients and their adventures. Seeing my pieces all over the world is almost as good as going there myself. Keep them coming, y’all!
