Meet Wilmé Hilche, the artist behind Dear Violet (Surface Pattern Designer- ຟil๓é) and our fourth featured artist from the challenge we held in collaboration with Bonnie Christine!
From South Africa’s Garden Route, Wilmé enjoys picnics with her daughter by the pond and takes inspiration from nature, vintage treasures and swans. When she is not in the studio, she likes to pick flowers in the meadow, build miniature homes and sew handmade dolls.
Her collection, SWAN SOIREE, will be in shops in 2027. Be on the lookout!

Meet Shelly Craig (SHELLY CRAIG), our third featured artist from the challenge we held in collaboration with Bonnie Christine!
From Bonaire, Shelly takes inspiration from her Caribbean home’s waters, ocean life and marine ecosystems, often using watercolor. She enjoys diving, sunset walks and paddleboarding with her husband and dog when not in the studio.
Her collection, WASHED ASHORE, will hit shops in February. Be on the lookout!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing short color‑theory lessons designed specifically for quilters. Each one focuses on a single idea—contrast, temperature, saturation, neutrals, and more—and shows how that concept appears in real fabrics. My goal is to make color feel simple, approachable, and useful, so you can choose fabrics with confidence and build palettes that feel intentional and beautifully balanced. From Southern Maine, Sofi grew up constantly drawing and loves to draw florals. She enjoys gardening and takes inspiration from hiking in the woods in her home state.
