What a beautiful night with some of my favorite people! 💜

I want to say a special thanks to my Anne, who not only took care of the shop this morning and afternoon, but also had a super productive day while she was here. I couldn't do it without Anne, Christina, the faces you see here and many of you who step in at just the right time.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our friends, the J-Walkers Youth Group from Black River Baptist Church. With your help, we were able to raise close to $400 today!

But we still have a few silent auction baskets that need bids, so here’s the deal...

The silent auction baskets pictured here will be available at the shop through close on Saturday! You can still make a donation to the kids AND place a bid on these items—you just have to come into the shop to do so.

You all make it such a blessing to do what I do here. Spending time with all of you, giving back to people in our community, and supporting young people who are learning God’s Word and sharing the Gospel is exactly the kind of thing I prayed this shop could be used for.

Tonight was just good for my heart. Thank you for showing up, giving generously, loving these kids, and once again reminding me what a blessing it is to be part of this community.

Now...let’s get those last baskets some bids tomorrow! The shop is open 10a-3p tomorrow.

The shop 13 is located at 107 N. Missouri St. in Potosi, MO. Hours are: Wednesday-Thursday 12-5p and Friday-Saturday 10-3p. Cant wait to meet you!

The shop is open during regular hours today AND again from 5-8pm tonight for our FUNdraiser benefiting our friends, the J-Walkers Youth Group from Black River Baptist Church!

Molly will be sharing her own Bible and showing you some of the ways she uses the Bible journaling tools available at the shop. If you’ve ever wondered where to start, come see what she does and get some ideas!

It's about time we think about what we’re thinking about.

Constantly throughout our day, we let a thought enter our mind and then just…let it stay there.

What if everything goes wrong?

I can’t do this.

I have to control this.

I’m too broken.

Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable. We are to think about things that are excellent or praiseworthy.

But friends, this takes practice. So do we do that?

First, we listen to 2 Corinthians 10:5 which tells us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.

Then, we filter those thoughts through God’s Truth by lining them up with scripture:

He is working ALL things for good. - Romans 8:28

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Phil 4:13

The Lord is my strength. - Psalm 28:7

I am never alone. - Deuteronomy 31:6

He cares for me.- 1 Peter 5:7

Philippians 4:9 says:
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Did you hear that, friends? His peace, which is the peace that surpasses ALL understanding, will be with us if we PRACTICE doing what we learned.

This Tip-In might be one of my favorites because it’s such a simple reminder to think about what you’re thinking about, and then ask yourself if that thought lines up with what God says is true.

Changing what fills our minds starts with filling replacing them with more of His Word. More of His Word means more of Him. More of Him means more peace. And more peace...well, I think we all could use some of that in our minds these days.

Two days from now, you’ll have the chance to support some of my favorite people!

Our last 1st Friday of the season is a FUNdraiser for our friends, the J-Walkers Youth Group from Black River Baptist Church. As their church continues the work of restoration and rebuilding, these young people have remained committed to gathering together, growing in their faith and learning His Word.

One of the things they’ve continued to grow in is Bible Journaling - and these new kits from Kingfolk, just in last week, have everything you need to get started!

Come by Friday night to support our young friends, see examples of Bible journaling and learn how to use some of the tools available at the shop to help you dig deeper into Scripture and sharpen the Sword of the Spirit, God’s Word, in your life.

You’ll find ten different journaling kits, washi tape, Tip-Ins (Bible studies), translucent sticky tabs and more in The Reading Room. But Friday night, we’ll have a variety of these inside The Community Room, where our friend Molly will be sharing some of her techniques to help you deepen your studies.

She is one special teen and an example even to this adult. 💜 Come meet my friends and help them rebuild!

And there’s more! We’ll have baskets and LOTS of prizes donated by the shop. All you have to do is make a donation to play Plinko - and every play wins a prize!

Come learn. Come give. Come encourage some pretty incredible young people.

Today I'm reminded of the PLAN God has for His children; the plan to prosper us and not harm us. The plan for a future and a hope. Father, as we plan our days, I ask that You help us to lay down our concerns before you. Help us to lay down our desires that you may refine us in ways that will grow us closer to You.

I speak life into the person reading this post, that they may experience breakthrough in the areas they have been struggling. I ask that You show up in a mighty way for them today, removing anything or anyone that is or has been a distraction from You.

I pray for the full armor to be their protection, wisdom and discernment to be their way and Holy Spirit, that You are their guide. Let us not worry about tomorrow or think about yesterday but to be PRESENT and purposeful in today.

Protect our hearts and our minds. Help us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Help us to be quick to listen, slow to speak and to use words that edify You and one another.

Thank You that we can come to You in prayer, laying all our needs at Your feet, knowing there where YOU guide, YOU will provide. Let praise ever be on our lips. Let our lives testify to the goodness and grace You have shown us.

Please bless this day and all it entails. In Jesus' Mighty Name I pray, Amen.
