Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to You today with thanks for something so special that happened yesterday. Sometimes people step into our day and we automatically have our minds made up about them. But yesterday, Your Spirit within me told me there was something different about these ladies. As I listened to what some would have thought was going to be a sales pitch, I heard with my Jesus heart three ladies who are simply doing what they can to continue walking in Your ways. I was able to hear their stories, give several hugs, and oh... the prayer in The War Room. It was so sweet.
And this wasn't all. Your presence was made known all throughout the day. As several of us prayed for friends of friends, the prayer was answered quite literally as we were praying.
Father, I know the enemy sees me as a threat because, well... I am. He can't have me back. I will not go backwards. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow will have its own worries, so I will stand in what You have for me today.
He tried to steal my joy last night—the beauty that I felt from that entire day—and even woke me up with it on my heart again. Then he tried again as I went to spend time with You.
And guess what? Take two starts now.
It started with prayer from a friend, a prayer of thanksgiving, and sitting right back where I started to have my time with You.
You know what we need before we even ask. Lord, I've done all I can do, and many of my friends feel the same way. Lord, now it's time for You to do what only You can do, and for us to sit back, be still, and know that You are God.
Lord, I think this morning about this beautiful Christmas ornament that came in a little early. It reminds me of a Scripture that keeps popping up in so many different places.
"Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it." — Hebrews 13:2 (NLT)
Lord, You gave me an experience recently that I want to share, but I need You to give me the right words at the right time. For now, I'll just share this Scripture because I think each of us needs the reminder that how we treat each other matters.
Words can speak life or death. There is power in the tongue. We have an opportunity to be Your hands and feet, sometimes in what seem like such small ways. But who knows? The one person You gave the time of day to could be the one who changes the world, and it all started with a seed that you planted.
There are a lot of people struggling this morning, Lord, and I lift them up to You. There are people in situations that are far beyond anything their flesh can handle, but there is nothing that You can't handle. Be with those starting over, those who have lost so much, and those you are bringing alongside them as they rebuild their lives.
As we walk into today, let us be in agreement with one another for rescue, resolution, reconciliation, and peace that surpasses all understanding. We don't need to understand it. We just need to receive it because You give it freely.
I love You, and I praise You.
It's in Jesus' Mighty name I pray, Amen.
