In honor of Global Hug Your Kids Day coming up on Monday, here’s a reminder that connection can be one of the most powerful tools we have 🤗

For many children, hugs, playful movement, and shared moments can provide calming proprioceptive input that supports regulation while strengthening connection.

Every child is different, and not every child enjoys hugs. That’s okay! Activities like bear walks, frog jumps, pillow squeezes, wheelbarrow walks, back-to-back pushes, and other playful “heavy work” can offer similar sensory input while meeting your child where they are.
