Dearest Christmas House friends and community members, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you of our Dad’s passing. Robert “Bob” Pedersen passed away on Monday, November 18th at St. Michael Hospital in Silverdale, WA. He was 90 years old. Bob is survived by his loving wife and partner of 50 years, Carolee, his four children (Nellie, Matt, Alex and Shaun) and their partners, his eight grandchildren, his brother Richard, and many nieces and nephews.
Of the 50 years that my parents enjoyed their lives together, 46 of them involved the Christmas House. It evolved from a little neighborhood pop-up into a beloved tradition for many families, a gathering place to catch up with friends for the holidays, a reason—or maybe an excuse—for my parents to travel around the United States and abroad. The joy of the Christmas House has been possible because of my parent’s partnership and your participation. My Dad, Bob, loved working on old clocks, repairing furniture, making wooden toys, boats, and birdhouses; and carving his special Santa Clauses.
The Christmas House will remain closed for most of this holiday season, but we are hoping to open it for a few days that will be determined later. We appreciate your love and patience as we process and deal with our loss.
Please feel free to share any photos or stories you might have of our Dad. I will be sure to share them with my Mom, and the rest of the family.
