The best parts of a national park usually aren’t the ones on the first page of Google.
They’re the quiet places.
The hidden beaches.
The peaceful stretches of river.
The moments you only find because a local pointed you in the right direction.
One of my favorite ways to experience Grand Teton National Park is by floating the river in a boat. You slow down, put the phone away for a while, and see the Tetons from a perspective that most visitors never experience. Wildlife, reflections on the water, and a level of peace that’s hard to describe.
Here’s my tip: use social media as a starting point—not just a map. Follow local guides, photographers, and adventurers. They often share experiences, viewpoints, and hidden gems that don’t make it into the typical travel brochures.
Just remember to explore responsibly, respect wildlife, follow park regulations, and help keep these special places beautiful for the next person.
What’s the coolest hidden place you’ve ever discovered because of a local recommendation?
