When you don’t let your husband throw away any scrap material. We are replacing windows in the porch that dad built in the 80’s, he used storm windows so it was always hot and became just storage area. 10 windows total. Brad has replaced 5 so far. So the red stripes are cut from pieces cut from window opening that had nails in it. The white stripes are plastic used to trim out new windows. As soon as I saw the white plastic pieces I thought they looked like I could use to make a flag. I also used a cabinet door I got from my days at Crystal.
