Sharon Preston started Ladies Of Lead Group Therapy, LLC in November 2012 two weeks before the tragedy at Sandy Hook, in an attempt to meet and make friends with other ladies that wanted to shoot. Being new to handguns herself, she was shocked to see the huge response she received through social networking. Within a few short months it turned into a full blown business. The need for quality instruction is overwhelming given that women make up the nations largest new handgun owners in America. She immediately teamed up with the Nation Rifle Association and their wonderful educational opportunities and started looking for instructors. Her main goal is to provide patient thorough instruction and training to women of all stages in their shooting experience. From women that are brand new to fi****ms and the shooting sports all the way to those that have had hunting and range time but lacked expert training. Since beginning Ladies Of Lead she has pursued expert training herself. She has qualified as an NRA Range Safety Officer, NRA Pistol Instructor, NRA Shotgun Instructor, NRA Refuse To Be A Victim Instructor and has trained with the world famous Massad Ayoob and graduated in his MAG/40 class in the top 10% of his all time classes. She is also on the 4-H National Shooting Sports Team as a Level 2 Pistol Instructor. Her goal is to be the best role model and Instructor she can be in order to teach and empower as many women as possible to be able to defend themselves. She takes firearm safety very seriously and the enormous responsibilities that go with it. She is passionate about teaching reasonable and prudent gun ownership and believes that" Wolves do not fear a rabbit with a gun". She wants to make sure that women don't just get their Concealed Handgun License and think that that is the end all. She wants to make sure that you know how and when to use a firearm. That it is ingrained in your mind through training and becomes a decision that is made before you need to make it. Sharon says, "We don't get to choose the time and place when bad things happen to us. The word is getting out through the criminal populations that more women are armed than ever before. NOW LET'S TRAIN THEM!"
