Perhaps the most prolific meme to come out of the Inauguration day was this photo of Benrie Sanders wearing a familiar olive gray coat and cozy mittens.
His fashion choices became an icon on twitter and social media platforms but did you know that those cozy mittens are made from repurposed wool sweaters and fleece made from RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES?

John Ellis, a teacher from Essex Junction, Vermont gave them to Bernie a few years ago as a gift and had been photographed wearing them many times since.

The West Coast is burning. The skies turned orange and smoke blanketed major cities, amid pandemic.

Atleast 15 people died, over 3000 homes are destroyed, and hundred thousands are being evacuated.

Wildfires are getting worse in the US. According to data from the Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity program, on average, there are more wildfires, and they are burning more land each year. A study published in July 2019 concluded that "human-caused warming has already significantly enhanced wildfire activity in California ... and will likely continue to do so in the coming decades."

The world is making progress against all poverty lines and with rapid growth in many middle income countries we can hope that this progress against poverty relative to high poverty lines will continue.However, our focus should be on those in the very worst poverty. There are still 730 million people living on less than $1.90/ day. The bad news is that we cannot expect the positive progress to continue because the world’s very poorest economies are stagnating, projecting half a billion people stuck in extreme poverty in 2030.
We've done well reducing poverty but the process isn't over yet and will not be for decades to come. Complete elimination of poverty will depend on how we raise awareness of the problem and encourage others to provide aid in different ways.
